HTC Touch Pro2 and Snap now available from TELUS

Canadian Windows Mobile junkies have a couple of reasons to smile this afternoon as TELUS has begun selling two great WinMo packin’ smartphones: the HTC Snap and Touch Pro2. Priced at $0 and $249.99 respectively on 3-year deals with voice and data discount (or $399.99 and $649.99 outright), both the Snap and Touch Pro2 are sure to please prosumers and business users alike. Apart from their obvious differences, each device has an abundance of features including email support, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, speakerphone, visual voicemail, global GSM roaming and well over five hours of talk-time per device. So, Canadians, who’s in?

Too bad the TP2 won’t work on Telus’ new HSPA network. Shaft… this handset is awesome, don’t get me wrong, but why release this flagship product a couple of months before the soft-launch of your brand, spankin’ new network. This thing could really showcase the abilities of HSPA, and now we’ll have to wait another year to see something that rivals it’s potential on the new network.

HTC has said they will NOT be releasing the phone on Bell in the near future. So my HTC rep said. (Working for a Telus Dealer right now)

I also agree, I ain’t coming back to WM until they completely rewrite and release WM 7. Anything 6, 6.1, 6.5 and so on is junk!

Storm 2 with all its fixin’s plus Wifi will be the hottest thing. iPhone? what they just got copy and paste? what’s next, a camera flash for the next worthless piece of junk version 3GS 2? that everyone including the next door neighbour’s 8 year old has one.

The iPhone is today’s moto razr. No uniqueness, just a herd of sheep. Hey look at my iPhone? Oh that guy has one, that girl has one blah, blah, blah. Can you say those who have one are original no, they are just part of the Kool Aid drinking herd.

Hey canadian folk, my girlfriend just got an ozone (snap) on verizon…for a cheap phone it is quite nice. I was concerned about a winmo phone for her since she’s not a tech person, but the HTC interface is pretty friendly. As much as I’d love a TP2, the snap is wonderful for winmo on the cheap.

bought the tour at launch with telus, and not got TP2. The TP2 is fantastic but as you get deeper into the phone the ugly winmobile shows up more often. Just letting everyone know!

Peter, you mean ugly like the plain text menu driven tour? With plain text settings and plain text everything else under the sun. a hack job browser (granted better than the old curve, but still a hack job)… Just letting you know.

Yeah good thing you made your choice based on aesthetics….

I don’t really have anything against blackberries, I have owned 3 of them, but I am not stupid enough to actually think the black berry OS is a beautiful thing. It simply isn’t.
