August is shaping up to be the month of sequels at T-Mobile

The good folks over at T-Mobile always do their best to bring hot new GSM phones to market as quickly as possible. With a subscriber count around 40 million however, manufacturers are seemingly more eager to deal with AT&T and its 80 million-or-so customers more often than not. Keeping that in mind, if T-Mobile can manage to bring the highly sought-after HTC Touch Pro2 to market before its GSM rival, it will definitely be a noteworthy coup. We still have no firm word on when AT&T will be cracking a champagne bottle on the Pro2’s hull but often-rumored August 12th launch date for T-Mobile’s sequel to the aged Wing just got a bit firmer thanks to the leaked sheet above. While pricing is still a mystery, we can assume it’ll come in towards the top of Tmo’s lineup and as such, a more affordable QWERTY option is rumored to become available the following week — the Samsung Gravity 2, another sequel. Though it was officially announced last week, there is still no official word on the pricing or release date for this messaging machine. While the handset’s price still alludes us, it looks like T-Mobile has August 18th pegged for its launch. Hit the jump for the supporting sheet for the Gravity 2 and let us know if either of these upcoming phones will have a place in your pocket and more importantly, in your heart.

The TP2 is a really nice looking device. If tmobile had 3G in Indianapolis I would have gone back to them. But we won’t be getting 3G until later this year.

I’m excited for tmobile. They seem to be making all the right moves as of late. If only their 3G network covered the Cinci-Dayton area… I’d be hooked back

I think At&t will wait, and release the TP2 with WM6.5 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Its the mytouch not G1v2. Got it sitting next to me and its nice. Basically its the G1 without a keypad and slimmer. Its a good phone but TP2 is the real deal.

I don’t know how Tmobile service is in my area or if they even have 3g but this seriously has me considering jumping ship from AT&T.

If T-Mobile would leverage their 148 million sub count worldwide and push manufacturers to create multi-radio handsets to support all their 3G bands the ball would definitely be in their court.

Instead, they operate as if the USA subsidiary is a completely seperate company void of any relations to DT.

Hopefully the newer younger management will change this going forward.

No -T-mobile TP2 Does not have a 3.5mm Jack, but their phones are usually as they are software wise except for bloat ware. The Hardware is way different.

well the good thing about winMob is you can hack the crap out of it to make it look better. I’ve had my MDA for a while now and I just upgraded to 6.1. It all depends on what kind of user you are. the only reason I don’t have an Iphone is cause i can’t hack and slash. This better be $99 too. another problem with T-mobile all their phones are way too expensive.
