RadioShack welcomes T-Mobile with open arms

RadioShack has been partnered with Sprint, Verizon and AT&T for some time now and it looks like the retailer is finally making way for T-Mobile as well. The great thing about third-party retailers is that they can sometimes offer better deals on the same handsets you’d find in corporate retail stores (though third parties sometimes will charge you separately if you cancel). Right now, RadioShack sees about 30% of its revenues coming in from its wireless sales, so it is clearly looking to expand by adding another carrier. Starting August 19th, RadioShack will kick off its new partnership with T-Mobile by hawking the myTouch 3G as well as a good chunk of the standard Tmo crop we would imagine. So people, if you live much closer to a run down strip mall than a T-Mobile retail store, odds are good that you won’t have quite as far to travel next time you’re due for an upgrade.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

    @ JasonT1273,

You get massive geek points for knowing about the TRS-80, my first PC.

I still remember making programs with Basic for the TRS-80.

Actually, Radioshack has had nearly uninterrupted Verizon sales in many regions in the US, as other providers aren’t available in all areas.

For everyone’s information and even the employees. RadioShack has been selling t-mobile for a while on their website. SOME stores have T-Mobile. As far as so-cal OC, mainly, do not carry t-mobile. As far as what we sell, some people should really do their research just because our name is RadioShack doesnt mean we only sell radios. We range from Televisions to Cell Phones and iPods and a whole lot of other stuff. So really get your comments right before you speak.

Proper economic management can do a lot for a company. Besides, just because they aren’t in the most “ideal” locations, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a market there. And in their case, with the right staff, a very strong market.
