LG GD910 watch phone could hit US after all
To be perfectly honest, it’s hard to know whether or not we actually care about the possibility of LG’s upcoming GD910 watch phone touching down in the US. If the pricing comes in as high as had been rumored a few months ago — $1,500 or more — then the answer is most definitely no. If LG can manage to simmer down a bit and hit a more realistic price point… Well, it might be fun to play with for a minute. Whether or not the GD910 will officially hit US soil is still an unknown but its stroll through the FCC halls at least makes it a much more likely possibility. As far as frequencies covered in the FCC documents, don’t get too excited. GSM/GPRS/EDGE 1900 is all we’ve got so far but it still looks like there are still a bunch of documents that haven’t been released yet so maybe LG will surprise us with some US 3G. And maybe not. Hit the jump for the label as found with the patent app.

Haven’t read anythign about it yet so…
How do you talk? Does ith ave hands free enabled all the time or need to stick headphones?
you use bluetooth headset to talk.
You will need to use a bluetooth headset to communicate as a phone.
Unless they have some type of small connector on the side or a connector on the side with a 3.5mm Jack on it that makes it look hideous.
It has a speakerphone, if I’m not mistaken. So it’d be like the old 60s TV shows.
at first thought, this seems pretty cool. but the more you think about it, the less appealing it becomes. assuming the price point was closer to affordable and reasonable, can you really imagine talking to your watch for a phone call (or for extended periods of time)? i’d say bt is the way to go with this, but 3g or no 3g is not important to me. after all, surfing on the ‘net on my… watch? phones sound good because of the screen. a watch? i don’t even know what to think about the device if it had a camera…
This would make an amazing impulse purchase that you regret in a week at best. Reminds me of my LG chocalete purchase I did years back in Europe as a secondary phone. It was cool for about 12 hours:)
I think its kinda cool. Granted its water proof and dust proof it would be great for hiking. In additon to GPS of course. Innovate right? I’m sure when Apple “invents” this next year for the rapist carrier At&t. The kids will be all over it! And Apple will claim to have invented the wrist watch.
Why would 3G be wanted in a watch phone?? You are not going to be doing browsing or other data intensive actions on it (it may not even support them.)
Those are the shortest fingers ive ever seen..
Or the biggest watch…
I didn’t even notice the fingers until it was pointed out LOL that was funny
Looks cool
I think its only cool if you were a big dick tracy fan or maybe inspector gajet (everyone remember penny)
Hey DavidThande2
Get your own identity!
Or they’re just both regular sized..
this will fail from market!!
Back surgery finally healed up nicely. Took to jogging again. My wife won’t let me leave the house without a phone. What a pain in the ass. Bouncing around in my pocket or holding it for 3 miles. I like the watch for such a purpose… not the price.
