Still having trouble scoring a BlackBerry Tour from Sprint? The wait is almost over

Following a tumultuous start, it looks like Sprint’s troubles with stocking and delivering BlackBerry Tour units are almost over. A series of three posts from Sprint’s twitter account suggest two shipments from RIM should allow the carrier to catch up with “strong demand”. One shipment apparently arrived this week and a second is scheduled for delivery early next week. Those who still haven’t been able to get their hands on RIM’s latest handset will hopefully accept Sprint’s apologies and sit tight for just a short while longer. We’re still not sure why the Tour was listed as in stock earlier this week when customers received backorder notices immediately after placing orders, but our guess is we’ll never know exactly what went wrong. The bottom line is these two Tour shipments should take care of everyone still waiting to snag a unit.

nope. i have verizon.
So problem with meeting RIM’s quota? I don’t think so.
verizon and sprint. two company offering same phone. one can deliver, the other cannot. sprint sucks. verizon ftw. case closed
I ordered mine Wednesday and it showed up this morning. Just call customer service and they will help you.
BTW, after ordering the phone, I went to verizon to try it out. Although one of the best BB since the Bold, I have to say that I decided to refuse shipment because I would much rather wait for the HTC Touch Pro 2. It was VERY hard to type well on this keyboard. I am familier withe BB Bold, and although this does look like a smaller version, if you are a man, the keys are going to be too small for your fingers.
I’d rather pay for a larger screen, landscape qwerty and WiFi = HTC TP2.
Mine is coming today
Just ordered my Tour, like 5 minutes ago, and Verizon will have it to me on Monday.
Wow, how’s that? Verizon has plenty of the phone.. but Sprint can’t gauge inventory?
fail.
my boy ordered the phone on wednesday hes set to get it at his house tomorrow and it did say back ordered. sprint
ordered mines Sunday at 12:30am
Received Friday at 5:00pm
FINALLY!
Ordered 2 at 12:10 am Sunday and arrived Tuesday! Love this phone. The keyboard is perfect even with man fingers as the previous post states otherwise, no problems typing fast and accurate here.
I like this phone but my dog decided to take a dump on the keyboard so I need to get some keyboard safe clorox to clean it and then I will be happy to use it again. Might smell a little bit though. I hope that doesn’t ruin my chances with the ladies.
I was due on the 24th of this month for an early upgrade. But thanks to a great rep, the wait is over for me. They backdated it for me and I sure snatched one.
***on verizon***
Rumors have it that thay sold half a million units the very first 24 hours. That’s quite impressive!
supply and demand smart a$$ sprint has a very high demand for the phone and for a short term the supply was not there, RIM made shipments problem solved. remember this was a phone that Sprint users found out they were getting early about a month ago, so they should be patient.
The Tour came out for Sprint (and Verizon) on Sunday, the 12th.
I ordered mine on Monday afternoon.
It arrived at the Sprint Store for pickup on Tuesday by 1:00 PM.
I had some major headaches getting it activated/registered with the Sprint network, but as far as actually getting my grubby mitts on one, it was easy and quick.
’std delivery timefrm?!? Hopefully not std delivery method too!

Keep on paying your overpriced BB plan with Verizon.
No Problem for me. I ordered mine yesterday afternoon and it was in my hands about 3 hours ago.
I am with Sprint and ordered on Sunday and had it in my hand Tuesday! In fact, two of them! I just took the other one back to the store today (they sent it by a mistake). I LOVE IT! The keyboard is great – way better and feels better than on the curve – and the screen is great! Worth the wait
FWIW, Sprint has never done me wrong in my 10 years with them – GO SPRINT!
Glad to hear Chuck. Im a 8 year Sprint user myself CS been Real good to me.
@verizonhater
don’t be hating on verizon. you can hate their prices. but everything else is good. unlike sprint
Got mine without a problem. Sprint is a great company and has it bumps but no one is perfect. great PRices and DAMN GOOD coverage and SPEED. Verizon is just to damn expensiveYou see all those TV and Radio ADS.. Thier you money you freakin fools.
I’m wondering if Sprint had more demand for the phone than Verizon since some BB fans on Verizon have gotten either the Storm or the Pearl flip while Sprint users have been starved for a new BB. No one seems to be asking that question. Guess we will need to wait for some financial statements from either VZW, Sprint, or RIM to find out for sure?
Lol @ verizon user, I see a lot of people LOVE getting raped with verizons high rates.
oh yea, FUCK the tour, LG BL40 anyone?
@semicoln
Verizon sold over half a million of these already. I think we had a HIGH demand of the Tour. I can’t tell you how many I have sold in the past week. I have had tons of port in from Sprint for them screwing up. Ive also had a lot of AT&T customers.
SPRINT = FAIL
