I have a curve 8320 and the OS 4.5.0.124(174). My question is can I dwnl the BBM 5.0 ???
Because I had read in some other tread the OS must be 4.5.0.131 or higher and you are talking about triple digit OS.

for those having Icon issues, it seems to not work on the .77 OS and *most* of the double digit os. Update to one of the triple digit os’s, and reload it. and for Jezreel lol means laughing out loud

My “location sharing…” Worked well when I was driving, but not in the airport. My 8900 has GPS so you might need to have a good GPS signal for the location sharing to work. I personally love the new BBM 5.0.8! It was an easy and clean install on my Tmo 8900 thanks to blackberrynews.com

I tried the new messenger but tried to use the “send location” function as that was the most impressive feature, and it does not work…keeps getting unable to locate. I tweeked the settings but had no changes…..any ideas

And don’t anyone try and tell me the BB 8350i or whatever from Nextel qualifies either. That phone would smash just as easy as a Pearl if dropped from more than 6 feet up. I’m talkin big time, canary yellow Motorola with the ribbed rubber grip on the outside. The kind of phone that you use as a wheel chock for your F250 Diesel. Now that’s a beefy man phone.

LOL, I gotta agree with Joe here. Haven’t you seen the commercials, with REAL MEN on construction sites and driving tractor-trailers with the Nextels? (or, alternatively, “Where you at?”)

I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t attempt to use my Tour to type out a long e-mail when I’m several stories up in a building being constructed…

Im running on 4.6 on my 8900 and downloaded the BBM 5.0 .it worked fine for me (: but i thought there was threaded sms and im not sure but i think im missing some other things too for the bbm5.0 or i guess i still need to play around with it more lol .. and also when will the 8900 update to 5.0 so that im not on 4.6 …..sorry im new (: my carrier is AT&T

I wasn’t aware that phones had masculinity to them. If that’s the case, then wouldn’t a Nextel phone be the manliest of the bunch? With it’s burly rubber coating and durability I’d say that’s probably the manliest of phones, not a BlackBerry.

You know how you can fix the threaded SMS integration with BB Messenger? Tell your idiot friends who are sporting a dumbphone, or a children’s toy phone (iPhone) and get a man’s phone (Blackberry). The tell them, in a not-so-polite way to get with the times and use BB Messenger.

You can open up Blackberry Apploader, connect your device and reload BB messenger. It is packaged with your core OS. If you haven’t downloaded any updates for your phone, go to your carrier’s website and download the latest software for your 8310. From their open apploader with your device connected and you should be able to select and deselect core programs to load onto your device. You should be able to do this with Desktop manager as well but I like the simplicity of the old apploader.

Like aalqadafi says, what the heck is it with the threaded SMS trolling? I don’t get it.

Firstly, my 2005 Blackberry 7750 had threaded SMS on OS-3, and every ‘Berry I have owned since then has definitely had it.

Secondly, this is BBMessenger we are talking about it. It’s an IM program, not an SMS program!

I downloaded the OTA version for my 8310 curve and as soon as the phone reset the BlackBerry messenger just dissapeared. I have even wiped my device restored it from my latest backup still nothing works can someone please help me what can I do now I have run out of options now?

Threaded SMS? What post are you guys commenting on? This is about BlackBerry Messenger? It’s already threaded. Do you guys even use the program? The new update is awesome. It adds a ton more features, and also looks a lot better. Scanning QRG codes instead of exchanging PINS!? That’s some futuristic ish right there.
