Samsung SGH-T939 aka Behold2 clears Wi-Fi Alliance testing

Despite being among the more capable handsets currently offered to T-Mobile subscribers, it looks as though Tmo is already planning the Samsung Behold’s funeral. Having made its debut this past holiday season, the Behold is among a handful of AWS rocking handsets T-Moblers in 3G-covered regions have to choose from. Be careful when making that choice however, as the Behold’s successor is already waiting in the wings ready to make you sorry you didn’t hold out a while longer. Specs and release info for the SGH-T939 Behold2 are still unknown but it’s clearly safe to say it will sport Wi-Fi (b and g) considering it just passed Wi-Fi Alliance testing with certification in tow. We can also bank on a nice big touchscreen, 3G and a 5+ megapixel camera of course. The rest is still a mystery but expect this little guy to come out of hiding in time for the holidays this year.

UPDATE: It looks like the T939 might be a bit more interesting than we first suspected. According to an unearthed XML device profile, this little guy looks to be sporting Android.

Boring, Does t-mobile really have anything good coming out? I think the TP 2 will be cool if they ever decide to release it and the “mytouch” aka springtime garbage from Europe doesn’t count.

@JakeyBoy: B is included for backwards compatibility. Since most of the radios are all on a single chip it doesn’t make sense to disable this feature (someone might need it).

It could very well be the Samsung Galaxy i7500. If that’s the case, I might pick one up.

@ricky. Tmo has quite a few really nice handsets comming out this year. The TP2 will be out sooner than you think and BGR confirmed that the first BB with the new trackpad will drop on tmo aug. 5 and another 3G BB w/ trackpad by the end of the year. Not to mention that you obviosly havnt held/ played with the MyTouch 3G or you would know that it is anything but “springtime garbage”. T-mobile also could be launching a netbook made by dell in the next few months. Sorry, but the days of bashing tmo for not ever getting cool phones are over. Remember the G1 and BB 8900?
