BlackBerry Tour hits up Bell… tomorrow!
Ready for some good news and some bad news, Canadians? The good is that Bell has pulled an ace out of its sleeve and announced it will begin selling the BlackBerry Tour tomorrow, July 11th, for $249.95 CAD on a 3-year contract ($699.95 contract-free). The bad news? Supplies are likely to be somewhat limited for the first few days and many dealers won’t have a single device on hand. The launch had been scheduled for the 17th as per Bell’s announcement, but apparently sticking it to TELUS where the sun (and its Tour) don’t shine is a bit more important than actually having phones on hand to sell to customers. Isn’t spite exciting?

Any word with whether Verizon Wireless ante up and meet tomorrow’s date in order to claim they were the first carrier to make the BB Tour available????
If so, I’m ready to pounce!!
It would be cool if Sprint would do something like that! C’mon Tour!

well if Verizon did do this they still wouldnt be first
GO BELL!!
They wouldn’t be second either – same day if they move it up from Sunday to Saturday. They will probably end up splitting hairs and say they have begun processing online orders or something….
sunday! sunday! sunday!
Tour = no wifi

Tour = no wifi Yes!!
Don’t believe it,
Bell has not released any info on this product on their website, nor on the internal site for Bell World Employee’s. they still have not publicly announced the 17th as the release date, and my account manager can’t confirm anything with me about when it is getting released still today!
hy reRusett how about you go to http://www.bce.ca and read the press release.
Who knows if this thing has Wifi or not. But really, if you’re a Bell customer, who cares when they’ve got unlimited data packages?
@griffen72,
It has nothing to do with unlimited data packeages. If you have a smartphone chances are you have one or are required to have one. Since no network has perfect service everywhere wifi is reassurance that you can get online.

Legally, phones are not allowed/should not work in airplanes, however Wi-Fi IS now becomming common on short term hauls, as well as long hauls. Therefore, by having Wi-Fi on your phone, one would then also have email functionality from their flight!!
Another benefit, is where one just isn’t getting a signal, overseas if you don’t have an international data plan/etc…
I believe the 3 year price is 269
Its live now, $249.95 for a 3 year.
Hi Y’all,
I’ve been saying for months that BELL MOBILITY would be releasing the BlackBerry 3G TOUR before Telus. And lo and behold, BELL is releasing this puppy tomorrow on Saturday, JULY 11th.!! How sweet it is.
WAY TO GO, BELL.

picking one up from my dad tomorrow
Got 13 of them @ my store in West Edmonton Mall….gotta love it!
Went to 5 bell stores today…yes 5…not one of them knew exactly when they would have it in stores.All they had was the dummy phone.3 stores told me they would have it on the 17th, 2 told me they really didnt expect it this month.I also did a live chat off the bell.ca site and whoever i chatted with told me maybe in a month or two.When i called today, they told me they had it in stock and ready to ship and also told me all stores would have them Monday.
How can bell reps be so lost.. who to beleive?
I don’t know about you guys but my dealer is getting three tomorrow and one has my name on it !
lol Bell is gettimg agressive lately. Even beat the US
Mel Gibson loves the Tour. Wifi isn’t a necessity when u have unltd data and u have great coverage EVERYWHERE in your city. And Mel never travels to Israel, so he never racks up roaming anyway…
iPhones are TOYS for SHEEP
P.S. Women are way hotter than phones. U should try it
Confirmed, got 16 of them right here in my hands. Enjoy guys, and yes its $249.95 on a new 3 yr, or if you got full credits on an upgrade.
@GG
Unfortunately most of us are lost because they give us mixed information. Some of us are intelligent enough to dig deeper. Others don’t have faith in what they tell us because they’ve disappointed us in the past. Some of us genuinely don’t want to mislead or disappoint you so we if they tell us 16th, we say after 16th, because they’ve lost our trust.
They’re definitely getting my trust back, I’ll soon have faith in them.
PS
@Carbob – hell yeah, F Telus

@ Wifi needy people:
I don’t need wifi, i got EVDO everywhere i go, and its unlimited. As to using wifi at home, why the F would I use wifi on my 3″ screen when i have a desktop and a laptop at home? People want whatever advertising tells them to want. Half of them don’t even know why they want it. Just that they want it, and they want it now, and anything that doesn’t have it must be crap.
