2009/2010 Nikon roadmap leaks; cameras and lenses and HD, oh my
A quick break from our regularly scheduled programming to bring our photogs in the audience some steamy gratuitous camera leak action. It looks as though Nikon’s dSLR and lens roadmap for the remainder of 2009 through the end of 2010 may have come to light and to say there are some juicy morsels lined up is a gross understatement. New bodies, 14 new lenses from Q3 2009 through Q3 2010, Full-HD video recording galore, a 30.2 megapixel beast likely in time for the 2010 holiday season… Suffice it to say this rumored roadmap is not lacking in the action category. In short, if this is the real deal — we likey. Hit the jump for the skinny and if anything manages to catch your eye, we highly recommend you start saving today.

Yeesh a 30 mega pixel ?!
I either need a better job or start tighteningthe belt … A LOT .
Those specs whet the appetite even more so .
Dude you have the right Idea. 4Q baby, I need some 32.2 megapixel’s in my life
Now that I think about it do I realy want my all the details of my face shot at 32.2MP lol
lol, all the wrinkles and stuff. i’m guessing the girls would hate that camera

F-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II (What everybody waited for! 82 mm filter, 1530 g)
for years i thought that these guys would go into phones but they haven’t for some reason. I personally would love a phone with a 10.5mp camera with a widescreen lens of some sorts and ubber video recording software that will let you crank up the recording speed then play it back at 24fps for some awesome backyard wrestling in smooth slo-mo so u can see the hits. Or mad jumps on the bmx, or snowboarding wipe outs or a 360 in slow mo in my 135i…now thats what im talking about. U can also make instantaneous panoramic pics during the day or night simply by undercranking the exposure. Colour correction is done on the phone with various filters and/or plugins. Throw in some basic but well designed and organized phone OS, that can make phone calls has push email is 3G and can directly upload to youtube, facebook, ect…put in there a full keyboard for fast typing and u have urself an awesome play phone. It’s like making calls with ur camera lol picture that…
Too bad I don’t have like, 10 grand to throw down on a camera. That’s awesome.
Looking forward to this, bgr is turning from a engadgetmobile to engadget lol. Not, that i am complaining at all. I loved this post since i just got a new Nikon D5000. The lenses were the best part, not sure if I can affors the hihhlight of the post.
mmm a new AFS 85mm f/1.4 and a d700x.
Those prices are going to be scary. Some of those lenses are mouth watering.
All the comments make it clear this post was wasted on cell phone fanatics who don’t understand the details of the subject.
Awesomeness:
AF-S Nikkor 24-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
Will the D700x have cf + sd-slot? Thats the question.
And for those of you excited about high MP, you JUST don’t get it. The 700x is only interesting because its got an FX sensor, AND does movie-mode. MP?? Who cares. Its all overkill at this point. What matters is low-light performance, and less iso noise.
Will BGR PLEASE write about why all point and shoot cameras suck, and why MP don’t matter.. and why sensor size does so that people will know to get excited about “Nikon Coolpix P1DX with DX 12.3 MP stabilised sensor”.
I guess the order of operation is that by 2011 mfg finally give you 5mp camera phones by default.. for you to realize, “wow, the pictures are JUST as shitty.” Then perhaps you’ll start asking for 4/3″ sensors. READ

My D300 and 17-55mm will cover me for quite some time.
Sounds like Truman’s a camera snob! Not everyone is knee deep in camera specs dude. Don’t get offended because we think a camera of this magnitude is cool. Just because you aren’t particularly impressed by it doesn’t mean we’re stupid or ignorant. If the MP rating didn’t matter, they wouldn’t make it a main focal point on camera spec sheets.
No, it sounds like truman knows what he’s talking about. 30mp is not the big news here, in fact, pretty much who knows the DSLR lines of today area aware that 30mp is coming in 2010, 2011. Canon had their 21mp camera since 2007 and We got Hasselblads and Phase One bodies with MUCH more mp than that.
The impressive news here (btw it’s obviously fake) are the movie modes in next gen FX bodies (that’s what I’m waiting for personally) and the DX sensor in compact camera (damn if they are cheap, I’m getting one, this is gonna be impressive.)
The lenses are pretty crazy too. The f/2 zoom for DX is pretty interesting.
oh my god, time to saveup for d700x and sell my d700
we can only hope for a price drop of the d5000 and plan on robbing a bank for that AF-S DX Nikkor 17-60mm f/2.8G VR
I’m almost tempted to give up my “Canon fanboy…ism”, and save up for THAT! but… that would be ridiculous. I need to snap out of it.
Is the 105 f2.0 a macro? But no VR? OY.
HELP ME NIKON!

“If the MP rating didn’t matter, they wouldn’t make it a main focal point on camera spec sheets.”
If 90% of your paper & digital renderings are 5″ X 7″, it doesn’t matter.
When Brady won his first bowl in 2002, the big S.I. 2 page photo was shot with an Oly 4MP 1 body, proof positive 4MP can handle larger renderings than most people ever produce and still deliver a WOW! factor.
MP is largely how the industry markets, and generates sales.
Photo quality has way more to do with the lens, the settings, and nailing the focus point. 100MP can’t save you from hand shake or not hitting the FP.
When I was a kid, I had a 200 watt per channel JVC amp. That thing was a piece of crap up against my dad’s 24 watt per channel McIntosh amp.
Don’t be too seduced by big numbers.
Wow! I just bought a D3 three months ago and it is almost obsolete already.
The best camera that you can own is the camera that suits your needs and that you know how to use. My genuine hope is that people don’t forget what photography is all about; getting out there with whatever camera you have and to do your best while having fun.
LIVE in the moment, be PASSIONATE about what you do, take JOY in your accomplishments, and share your MEMORIES with family and friends.
LOL this is fake. It’s been floating around the rumor websites for over a week.
See the first entry here titled “Not Everything on the Internet is True”.

Apparently this started out as a wishlist of sorts on a Czech website, and it somehow turned into a “roadmap”.
Thank you for all tips and informations.

I hope we will get the D700x soon, I have been waiting 10 years for that camera.
I have fixed nikon lenses and I like very large prints out.
I think 24MP will be very good (the maximum definition for a 24×36mm lens is about 50MP).
I will have to be very nice with my wife (just kiding, she is a sweet heart)
