T-Mobile myTouch 3G now available for pre-order

Are you one of the many T-Mobile customers itching to get your hands on a sexy new myTouch 3G? We don’t blame you — as long as a physical QWERTY isn’t a prerequisite for you, this little guy is definitely a solid choice for Tmo customers looking to get some Android love. As of today, subscribers can pre-order the myTouch 3G starting at $199.99 and T-Mobile will guarantee delivery by August 5th. The pre-order offer in its current state ends July 28th so you’ve got plenty of time to mull it over if you’re still on the fence for whatever reason. As a side note, several tipsters are reporting issues with placing their orders — among them, even qualified upgrades are showing up at a $399.99 price point upon checkout — so you may want to hold off a bit until T-Mobile can iron out the kinks. If you do decide to dive right in however, let us know how it goes!

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Likewise. Some people on Twitter are saying they completed their order, for me it got to the end of the process but when you click the final button to confirm it says “Unable to submit order.” Other people on twitter called and were told that it wouldn’t be working until 10am PST.

I just ordered one. The first 5 or 6 times a message appeared saying I was unable to upgrade. I went back in about 10 minutes and everything went ok. The receipt said I will have the phone by August 8th.

$199? That’s kinda pricey, ain’t it? This is just a Magic with TMobile logos. That’s a phone that’s been out for awhile now in Europe.

Bad move TMob. $99 or $129 could have made some noise.

I really want this phone…it just looks great. I don’t like preordering, I prefer to buy it in the stores to try it out. I’m hoping the trial goes through because I’ve been itching to get my Android on

I went to order mine and I got a $499.99 price. I called T-Mobile, furious, as I’ve been a customer for like 10 years. I was told that I have to wait until the phone is released to the public (even though I’ve been getting pre-order for existing customer emails for weeks now), then I have to speak to someone special at T-Mo, and then they MIGHT lower my price to $199.99. I’m 19 months into my contract. If they don’t come through, my loyalty ends. I’ll go iPhone. Not kidding.

22 months into a 24 month Tmob contract on a Blackberry Pearl. After a few tries, got the 199 upgrade price, and an Aug 3 delivery date

It’s a sweet phone but not $200-$400 sweet. Not to mention the required $25/month data package which is hardly worth it seeing as though T-Mobile’s 3G coverage is so limited. I’ll stick with my iphone with the 5.99 tzones data package.

    Everything is relative.

T-Mobile covers the greater majority of SoCal’s westside with 3G and will rapidly expanding the coverage eastbound by the end of Q3.

I ordered mine around 11:30pm PST last night. It did take a few tries as I was getting the same errors as everyone else. Must have been a lot of users trying to order at once!

I’m really digging the style and look forward to becoming part of the Android crowd.

Anyone know how to get the magic with the 850/1900 bands for North Amerixan 3G? I know the Canadians have it on Rogers. Is there anyway to get one unlocked? I’m not ready to cut another contract despite how I loathe att.

Ordered mine last night too in Merlot, went thru the first time. Now… the waiting game.

To all of u complaining about he $199 price tag, goto Amazon and get the Hero for $700 if u think that’s a better buy. other than the camera it’s the same exact specs as the mt3g. give it a month and Sense will be on it as well. No other Co is selling their flagship phone for less than $199 why should tmo? Pre come on …played with it not impressed, I’ll give it to iphone better but no by much. TMO late to the game but still in it tho.

I ordered mine, it worked out fine. $399 but I’m not eligible for an upgrade. It was $499 without a contract extension but I just took the extension.

Why would somebody buy a 3G phone on a network with no 3G coverage?

Come on now. T-Mobile has 3G in at least three major cities and some obscure small cities in the southwest.

The Hero won’t work on Tmob 3G, as it doesn’t currently have the 1700 band. They would need to roll a model specifically for Tmob US.

So I am guessing no one has seen the new 3G coverage area that is supposed to be mostly rolled out by the end of this year. Go check it out.

T-mobile can suck it. I’m 13 months into my current contract, so I also have to pay $399.99 IF I extend by another two years. And they won’t waive the $18 upgrade fee. If I were a new customer, I could get the phone in August for $199.99 and not pay an upgrade fee. Way to give the finger to your loyal customers, t-mobile. It would currently be cheaper for me to pay the $200 cancellation fee and switch to AT&T and get an iPhone. Too bad I don’t like Apple.
