Sony Ericsson’s first Android handset “Rachael” and the transparent display-rocking “Kiki” get pictured
It’s July 4th — America is celebrating its independence at the grill, policemen across the country are turning a blind eye to fireworks, liquor store owners are swimming in the day’s take… And two new Sony Ericsson handsets are getting detailed. Maybe. Consider these unconfirmed rumors for the time being, but it looks like SE’s first Android handset could be a gem and its first transparent display-equipped handset could be the ugliest thing we’ve ever seen. Let’s start at the top… After the jump.
Thanks, Staska and origins81!

Pictured above is a sleek full touchscreen handset codenamed “Rachael”, reported to be the Sony Ericsson’s first Android offering. According to rumor, it will bear the Xperia brand and will feature a big ‘ole touchscreen resting atop Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon processor, an 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus, a 3.5mm audio jack, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 3D graphics capabilities. Hot. It will be announced later this year and, if all this holds up, could very well be the first truly drool-worthy SE handset we’ve seen in quite a while.

Next up from the mill, a hideous handset reportedly codenamed “Kiki”. Beyond the unique design, the Kiki is said to feature a glass display that can be viewed from either side of the device. The handset doesn’t seem to feature anything resembling a traditional keypad so we’re not sure how interfacing is going to work. Bottom line — this is likely a very early mock up that will be changed drastically if and when it ever reaches market.

I don’t know about the transparent phone but the other one looks really promising, SE has been MIA for a long time hope they get back in the game.
ZACH, quit working!! It’s a holiday! Happy 4th Man.
this will be better than that shitty tour!!!
w00t!
give me a tour with wi-fi and android…oh wait…
it definitely won’t have band IV 3G
10000000000000000000000000000000000% sure!!!
Wow…will SE be the first to put a media processor on an Android device?
kiki is ugly
Sony finally realized that WinMo isn’t going to sell a phone, glad to see them rocking Android now. Can’t wait for this phone to come out. Too bad I live in Canada and the best phone here is the iphone, I would wait for the HTC hero but go knows when that phone will be release here!
give to at&T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Snapdragon & Android(WOW!)…if S.E. can get this on the market soon as a truly global phone(U.S. 3G bands of course)they probably have a bonified “MF” winner, that’s win I get to see the real specs though but they really need a hit b/c who even pays attention to S.E. anymore…let’s be real!!!!!!!!
If this is coming to Tmo, I will forget about the Tungsten..This sounds amazing…
really interesting. If hope Raechel comes with a flash, I might get one: provided I can afford it unlocked or BGR gives me one
Raechel is so fine. I like her a lot. Look @ the back, so nice! Sweet side profile! Love it! Oh, & the phone is nice too…
so the Satio is not BG drool-worth?
iphone killer?
This could make me crazy if it drops around the same time as the STA STA STA STORM2. Come on SE, make ya boy proud!!
The Rachel looks nice but I don’t see why I would buy it over the iPhone 3G S besides the professor but the new iPhone runs silky smooth and doesn’t really need a better processor. The eight megapixel camera us nice but I never use the camera in the first place and i wouldn’t pay that much more for it. If this thing was sexier and ran sense ui I might get it but I really don’t like all that hacking and stuff. Plus I’m a huge music but and as far as I’m cibberned the iPhone has the best music player. Very interesting though.
@Zach has THE point! Why wouldn’t you put this out on the iPhone rival networks? A CDMA version would sell like crazy. If they dropped the GSM version, people wouldn’t have enough reason to pick it over the iPhone and it would sit on the shelf next to the Samsung, LG and Moto offerings. For this to be a true iPhone killer, it needs to hit VZW (at least in the states), soory Sprint (see Pre). Happy 4th everyone!
dude zachs canadian!
work stops for none
@ Beeve
A Sony Ericsson phone on a US CDMA network? Right…
@gillz
I didn’t say it was likely. Just sayin
Peace Out
huh huh huh HERO!!
Looks pretty schmexy

Sony Ericcson is spliting up so this might be their last hurah before they go their separate ways. Can’t wait to test it out.
Rachael’s screen ratio is 16:9
It should be S60 5th more than Android since Android screen ratio is 4:3 while S60 5th is 16:9
