Verizon-bound Samsung Glyde 2 images surface
If the BlackBerry Tour isn’t your particular brand of vodka and the various other QWERTY handsets on Big Red’s menu don’t rub you the right way, the nation’s biggest carrier may have something right up your alley coming down the pipe. According to a post from last night, Howard Forums member StandardsDT decided to go all 007 on his friend and snap a few stealth pics of the unannounced Samsung Glyde 2 when the poor guy left the room for a moment. Our guess is his friend won’t be overly happy when he sees the pics strewn across the internet, but we’re plenty happy to ogle them regardless. Not much is known about Samsung’s upcoming Glyde 2 for the time being beyond the big bright touchscreen display (AMOLED we imagine), the side sliding four-row QWERTY and the familiar TouchWiz UI. StandardsDT believes the handset has an on-screen QWERTY keyboard and an accelerometer for orientation awareness as well, though it doesn’t work in all areas of the UI. Release date? Pricing? Full specs? Hopefully all will be revealed soon enough. Hit the jump for more shots.
Thanks, Jon Dohnson!

I hope this works better then the current version
is that a name that inspires confidence?
will it have the shit screen problems like the first? STILL CAN’T PRE-ORDER TOUR!?!
“the nation’s biggest carrier”
dropped the “most reliable” moto, hmmm
I must be the few with no problems with the Glyde 1, since it is a refresh… The newer one looks nice with the 4 row keypad
huh huh huh HERO
Der dri Driftwood! 9600!!
tuh tuh tuh tour!
Ha.
This was the one phone that I was waiting on from VZW since it cleared the FCC. I finally just bit the bullet and went with a different phone on a different carrier. Figures that now the pictures would come out.
Looks good though.
BTW BGR you guys should blur out the number on that phone. Sure everyone is going to get in trouble for this but no sense in helping them get there.
What’s this? A new VZW phone without a bastardized VZW interface?
Hopefully TouchWiz manages to make it all the way to the consumer model…
Verizon Wireless has been ranked the 10th largest wireless network in the World!!
It still is the most reliable netowrk too… By far…
@JoeTour
They didn’t quote it right. VZW’s moto is “The largest most reliable wireless network”
Sweet! As long as no data plan is required, this may be exactly what I want! Now, I just have to be patient …
Tour!!!!!!!!
Verion is garbage.

Waiting for a Verizon Pre……………..
I’m in Oklahoma right now on I 44 with full 3G service while my friend has a Iphone and is only picking up GPRS. Her moms BlackBerry is switching from edge (not EDGE) to GPRS. Att sucks.
@ VZW
You’re in Oklahoma too, eh? As I drove back from Montana last week, I was reminded why I don’t have AT&T. Not bad service, just no service in many places I drive when I head home (MT). Verizon’s reception along the way has improved greatly. It’s quite usable most of the 1500 miles.
To bad it’s on verizon, i had them for one week and they are shit!
From now on I’ll do it differently.
ATT sucks!!
Now let the att fanboys defend their turf! (Insted of me defending mine…)
this is gonna be shit like the first one i just know it cant wait for 3g hero on at&t
Sure its the resistive screen. Pitty to waste such nice AMOLED. Verizon=nice network, crappy selection! I was just at family reunion in MT, camping in the back-woods! No ATT there, ha,ha. But, there I am with my dated 8830. I digress…toodles
@jeff,
I agree… Samsung’s 1st gen of this device sucked! The shit touch screen an keyboard… Worst design ever! This device is going to be the same as the first one… But also I think all VZW handsets are sort of crippled before they hit the shelves anyways because they all have the same shitty VZW phone OS on it! So i don’t think this is going to be a real show stopper…

Before you star talking trash about Verizon learn how to spell the name.
