Verizon-bound Samsung Glyde 2 images surface
If the BlackBerry Tour isn’t your particular brand of vodka and the various other QWERTY handsets on Big Red’s menu don’t rub you the right way, the nation’s biggest carrier may have something right up your alley coming down the pipe. According to a post from last night, Howard Forums member StandardsDT decided to go all 007 on his friend and snap a few stealth pics of the unannounced Samsung Glyde 2 when the poor guy left the room for a moment. Our guess is his friend won’t be overly happy when he sees the pics strewn across the internet, but we’re plenty happy to ogle them regardless. Not much is known about Samsung’s upcoming Glyde 2 for the time being beyond the big bright touchscreen display (AMOLED we imagine), the side sliding four-row QWERTY and the familiar TouchWiz UI. StandardsDT believes the handset has an on-screen QWERTY keyboard and an accelerometer for orientation awareness as well, though it doesn’t work in all areas of the UI. Release date? Pricing? Full specs? Hopefully all will be revealed soon enough. Hit the jump for more shots.
Thanks, Jon Dohnson!

Joetour. I think you assume I’m pro att, which i’m not. I’m pro gsm. CDMA is the reason verizon and sprint get the worst phones (with the exception of the Pre and TP2). I had tmobile for 8 years and really had no complaints while living all over Ohio and virginia. Att has been just Okay for me.
Either way, tmobile or att, I have the freedom to switch between phones easily (I have a g1 too). and use the different ones available all over the world without waiting for my provider to come up with it’s own version (sprint verizon).
So that is my problem with veriZon. The lack of freedom.

how do people get these unreleased phones to test?
Verizon = crippled phones and slow network. Verizon = Steaming Poopy
Hector looks like he has steaming poopy dripping out of his mouth.
im so maddd i just got the env3
Its amazing anybody is excited about the Tour..Outdated operating system with an outdated phone. It cant even decently open an Excel file….and no touch screen..Blackberrys need to get out of the 90’s
You all speak of the glyde’s past fallacies, but the refresh changed its main problems: the touchscreen. Theoretically, this phone should work just fine
i can already forsee the upcoming probs with this phone … its glyde 1 all over again!!!!!!!111
still waiting on Verizon Android phones …
The first glide sucked so bad I wouldn’t go near the new one no matter how “neat” they made it.
looking at Samsung’s track record, this might not be too bad. The first Alias was pretty bad, but the second one is getting pretty nice reviews. Maybe they’ve finally learned how to churn out some decent hardware and the U960 won’t be too bad.
SEEEEEE MANNN Samsung is such a copy cat! if this didnt have there name on it i’d think it was a new LG Voyager cuz they both have the same screen set up with the unlock thing an all. Anyway can’t wait untill Sunday to get MY BlackBerry TOUR!!!!! I love my LG Voyager but i need a more “idk the word” phone
Waiting for the Verizon pre also.
Oh really come on you guys this phone is going to be great. Yeah the first one wasn’t good but now its GREAT nothing wrong with the screen anymore just go to the store to have it switched you’ll love it! as for this phone its going To be a HUGE seller!! as long as they change the name to like the fighter or something IDK but yeah its going to be GREAT!!!
this isnt the glyde 2 its the rogue a totally different phone
I’m optimistic. This is the first samsung with touchwiz to hit verizon. It looks much better than the first generation. Also i’ve tried out other phones with the same operating system such as the behold and memoir and they’re awesome. Samsung’s new line of touchscreens are much more evolved than the one on the first glyde. Guess you’ll just have to try it at the store and see for yourself…
i had the original glyde, and the problems with it were ridiculous, but it the concept of the phone was amazing, so hopefully this new one doesn’t suck and keeps the original concept of the original glyde
