Sprint says no pre-orders for BlackBerry Tour

Following the Verizon Tour pre-order debacle and subsequent redemption, it looks like Sprint is a bit more firm in its position. Sorry Sprint folks, but it looks like you’ll have to hit up your local Sprint store or telesales on the day of release if you plan on grabbing a 9630. Twitter user @srdoherty, who is the manager of social media and interactive communications at Sprint, answered a query from a Sprint user confirming the inability to pre-order a Tour. Anyone put off by the lack of advanced ordering? As highly anticipated as the Tour is, we’re pretty sure it won’t cause quite the rush seen when the Pre launched so hopefully inventory shouldn’t be much of an issue.
Thanks, Roger A!

Sonya, vzw still cripples/locks all the dumbphones and them unlocking GPS on certain smartphones is a small consilation for you all. I say that “you get what you pay for” is weak as hell because no recent independent surveys put Sprint anywhere but 1 or 2 in voice/data so stop trying to justify the less for more angle by calling Sprint subs poor when we’re obviously cost conscience.
@Sonya,
They still bog down the regular cell phones so VZW can bleed you from both wrists and make you use VZNav which is LAME! with GPS becoming a big deal with apps and stuff, VZW doesn’t want you getting too excited and starting to use stuff other than their own cult software… I’m not saying I like Sprint, but I’m not saying VZW is good either… VZW is going to face a shit ton of problems here soon because they’re loosing sight of CUSTOMER SERVICE… The companies that prevail usually have great customer service, something VZ used to have, but now that they are “Big Bad Red” they’re not caring whatsoever what is beneficial to the CUSTOMER.
Keep slobbing on VZW’s knob ma’am, and see where it gets you in the long run.

I was a verizon customer for years, switched to AT&T tdue to constant echo calls and poor recpetion in the area I live in on Long Island. My water district made AT&T take there cell tower off their water tower so this caused me to switch from them(miss my iphone) to sprint, they have the airwave. I love sprint! amazing plan and whenever I am in an area where their service is not great(this is rare) I roam on Verizon. same unlimited plan on Verizon is $50 more. Go Sprint!
