Sprint to launch BlackBerry Tour on July 12th, $199.99
Still wondering why we steered clear of that July 20th rumor? Sprint has made it official folks, the BlackBerry Tour will be launching with Sprint on Sunday, July 12th. Pricing lines up with Verizon at $199.99 after instant rebate but there will be a mail-in rebate of some kind to deal with. More info as it comes in — Sprint still hasn’t issued an official press release.
Att here in Phoenix, AZ is decent but it always sounds alot of static when talking with someone with att. Their 3g is always switching from 3g to edge like every 10 minutes with sprint it never changes from evdo to 1x never it does. I have had sprint for years i can drive from phoenix to tucson with constant 3g signal probably once or twice EVDO will go off during the whole way for about 30 seconds. With att is hard to even have a constant 3g signal in the heart of phoenix. Not to mention when driving from tucson to nogales, AZ att will hardly at all have 3g signal when with sprint you have constantly throughout the whole way except like once it will go off and then back on for like 30 seconds.
Seriously i don’t see the point here alot of att fans always bashing on sprint i guess they are trying to feel good because they are getting raped by att. Is that type of people that because they pay more for the service they think it has to be better. In reality no carrier is perfect but when compared 3g speeds and coverage throughout the US sprint has more coverage and is faster in more places than att of course sprint or any carrier covers the us 100 percent, but for people to bash sprint because in their area is not good doesn’t mean shit like said no one carrier is available throughout the whole us then again sprint has free voice and data roaming lol.
Conclusion if in an area both att and sprint are good wouldn’t if make more sense to choose the cheapest plans? unless you-re rich and don’t care or either like getting raped by att.

Anyway, People can bash Sprint All they want to, Sprint isnt going anywhere. No way they will allow there to ever be one Dominant CDMA carrier. Guess some are pissed off that Sprint is Keeping pace and Not crippling their phones at the same time.
If you live in the D.C/Baltiore area Sprint Service is excellent. Alot of people agree to that. I wonder what the Haters will say when Sprint Has the Hero this Year and Verizon is still Twiddling their Thumbs. Give up on the LTE vs. WiMax debate. Wimax is Here Now and people are takin advantage of it.

The only thing I could ever say about Sprint that wasn’t the best, was their customer service. That has already changed though. They fixed that and now they are on the rise again. Thats why they are forking out the big bucks to get badass phones like this Tour and the new Palm Pre.
Haha…man. This is so crazy. You know, I really can’t see how anyone could bash Sprint. If you really actually know the stats and how good Sprint is, their is no comparison. Verizon is the best all around company. But their plans are outrageously high. AT&T just sucks and they are still high. Sprint is just the best. I don’t know how else to put it. The GSM network sucks and if a tree gets in your way, bye bye 3G for AT&T. The truth hurts.
I work in Houston Galleria area and have Sprint on my personal BB. If I go in the elevator up to the 7th floor and come out, it stays on roaming for 2 hours which sucks if you need to use Data. At points, the call quality is crystal clear but at other times, it’s impossible to find a signal especially inside malls or department stores.
@gustavo lol true to that inside my house my relatives that have att barely have 1 bar and when they call you can’t hear shit nothing but static. they have to go outside the house to make a good crystal clear call. With cdma with one bar you can make a crystal clear call not with GSM
except the fact they don’t use their 4g and it will be outdated in less than a year, in which time they still won’t have coverage with their 4g. not to mention no 4g phones and yes i’ve used sprint, they leach off of vzw towers and still drop calls and their data network DOES suck. some areas are better then others i admit, just like any carrier, some spots are just sweet. but with everything in a “whole” perspective, sprint can take a hike. oh, and by the way, their plans arent cheaper on a broad spectrum, just one or two spots which other carriers compete in other areas sprint cant match.
Thank VZ for your decent “Sprint” service! Amazing how much more you Sprint fans (employees) know than Wall Street! Good luck on actually being called “Sprint” within the next 12 months after they tank and have to be bought!
First off, Sprint’s 4G network has just started and they will continue to expand it. It don’t happen over night. At least they have it asshole. Next, it’s funny how you say they use Verizon’s towers cause Verizon don’t even work where I live and barely works in the town I work in…but somehow you say they leech off their towers? I think you have been misinformed son. I don’t think so. I don’t know where you think you are getting your facts but you are mistaken and you can take them and shove em hard. They don’t use Verizons towers and their 3G is still extremely fast. So thats just bullshit. No, I don’t work for Sprint, I just love their service. Thats the truth. I’m tired of you AT&T fags dogging Sprint when you can go under a tree and lose service. You guys need to shut your fuckin mouth if you don’t know the real facts. I work with co-workers that have AT&T and they are always dropping calls when they are traveling through the country and go into buildings. I could understand if they went deep into a building, thats understandable…but they can barely go inside one and lose service. While I have a full signal and EVDO. Anyone else want some? Come get it.
No one knows the fate of any company. No one has the foresight to know who is going out of business or staying. Why would anyone want a wireless carrier gone. Competition is a good thing. Less choices for people is not good. A Monopoly is not good for anyone.
Wow so personal… All I can say is that in the 9 years I’ve been on Sprint I have consistently had better service than other people I travel with. I work all over the US & Mexico. I also find it ignorant to not concede to the fact that Sprint (including Boost & Nextel) currently have some of the cheapest plans for people who are data heavy users.
ps. i dont have at&t and yes they do “borrow off verizon. EVDO tower capabilities arent shared thus where sprint on occasion can do better. and no need to swear left and right, just shows your immaturity. i dont want sprint crushed just interesting where they think they can succeed
All companies pay for rights to borrow towers. But Sprint does NOT rely on Verizon for their extremely fast 3G because Verizon don’t even work anywhere around here and Sprint is super fast. My swearing is just a sign of how tired I am of AT&T queers running their mouth about shit they don’t know. It has nothing to do with me being mature. It shows that i’m tired of dumbasses talking when they don’t know anything but what the stupid commercials tell them.
