AT&T’s Nokia 6790 Surge, aka Mako, to launch mid-July?

A Qik video posted to YouTube shows off the many sides of the Nokia 6790 Surge, codenamed Mako, headed soon to AT&T. The unusually shaped handset has already been spec’d and exclusively photographed in detail of course, so the only real takeaway beyond the release name of the handset is the fact that it will allegedly drop around the middle of this month. The author of the video also claims the Surge will be well-priced, though he notes that pricing details are not yet finalized. Hit the jump if you just can’t resist checking out this little budget messaging machine on video.

“Very” unusually shaped phone. The swiveling nokia is at least a small phone which is a comodity these days. This one though, I don’t see a reason for it to exist.

It’s almost as though AT&T invited the fugliest most club footed Nokia girl to the dance to make the WinMoRIMFruit princesses look better.

I, honestly, don’t see why everyone thinks this thing is so ugly. To me, it looks like any other, generic, slider out there. It’s nothing special, but nothing terrible.

DO not want to offend any of our Asian members but these phones look more like they would sell to the Asian market than the USA. Someone needs to give Nokia a clue as what is acceptable to us versus them!
