BlackBerry Tour dummy units begin arriving at Bell stores; release imminent
Huh, what’s this? Bell has begun shipping out dummy units of the highly anticipated BlackBerry Tour 9630? Yes indeed it has, alongside the typical promotional materials which, as per Bell’s general practice, which means the launch is likely just a few weeks away. Does this mean we could see the Tour hit Bell the same week it drops on Verizon? It’s looking that way, folks — in fact our ninjas pin the date as Friday, July 17th. Excited? Yeah, we are too. Hit the jump for a few more pics.
Thanks, Carbs!

Remember the Zack Morris phone?
I must admit that I feel bad for Verizon people… their phone selection sucks major balls. I guess I sort of see where these Tour Trolls are coming from.
looks just as good as that new motorola q11 but lot more expensive.
date is going to be July 17th, and pricing is going to be $699 no contract, with the usual contract discounts of $200 on 3-year, $150 on 2-year, and $50 on 1-year and then the extra data LTO only available on 3-year which will probably bring it down to $249 (same price the storm launched at), unless they feel generous and drop it to $149 which the storm is at right now.
RIM is a joke, all they do is release a new case every few months and people get all jacked up about it.
HEY RIM, how about making a GOOD WEB BROWSER?!!! Your OS is SOOOOOOO FRIGGIN dated its not even funny. YEAH YEAH you do TEXT email really swell, but everything elese SUCKS ass.
RIM is like General Motors… hey lets make 80 versions of the same shitty car/phone and people will buy it just because we say its great!!
Great call on GM analogy. But RIM has to satisfy the POS carriers that offer dog crap selections. The Tour is a great looking piece. Price at Telus is rape with out penetration.
the exitement is down the drain when you hear it is 500$ on a 3 year term!
wow looks like every other blackberry just without wi-fi
Storm 2>>>
Its comming out the 15th. Good job bell.
This is great news! Having been saying mid JULY all along.
Looking forward to getting the BlackBerry TOUR from BELL Mobility.

At least the phone is more original than your Sienfeld joke ripoff.
I think you will see a lot of ppl upgrading from their old Curves to the Tour. Instead of offering a completely revamped form factor (which many of the haters are complaining about), RIM has done something practical and made a device that current CDMA Curve owners will feel very comfortable upgrading to. Just like the Curve 8900 was a good upgrade from the old Curves on GSM networks.
If so many people were so eager to upgrade from an Iphone 3G to an Iphone 3GS (crazy eh?) Then I would think the Tour will be even more successful as it is a far more substantial upgrade from the Curve 83xx than 3GS was from 3G.
I hate you
It seems that berry users are so bored with what they have that anything remotely new excites them.
@Grr: I hate you
tuh tuh tuh tour sux azz!!!!
Same sh*t different toilet!! And I’m sending this from my 8330 on VERIZON so believe it when I say: BORING!!! WHAT’S REALLY GOOD ?? I need more info on the st’ st’ st’ STORM2; what the hell is going on at RIM???

Why do people, who have probably never used Blackberry OS, always deride the OS for looking aged? Granted, the UI could look more decent, but that’s only moreso in the settings. Obviously, it’s been a proven formula, so why mess with it? Not everyone is ADHD and needs screen transitions and wiggling icons.”
Well said.
BB is a very efficient OS.
A lot of the complaining nobodies here can’t earn a real living and need eye candy to keep them occupied while peddling RAM or making my latte.

RIM like GM haha funny.
You really have no idea what your talking about.
The technologies that Rim develops far surpass that of the consumer products of the likes of Apple.
Rim is a business phone that is breaking into the consumer market and kicking a$$ while doing it.
I have total confidence that rim will develop a more modern OS that will compete if not blow away the competition next year.
Maybe RIM will ask the guys at PI for some help.
