Still waiting on a Google Voice invite? This could take a while…
As impatient people craving access to Google Voice continue to wait for the arrival of that joyous invitation email, Google Voice head Craig Walker gives us a brief insight into just how long of a wait some users may be looking at. A short while ago, Walker tweeted that the team is currently working on invitations that have been pending since the days of GrandCentral before it moves on to more recent invitations requested since Google acquired the service. The clarify that time frame, Google snatched up GrandCentral way back in July of 2007 — meaning that if you’ve requested an invite recently, you’ve probably got a hell of a wait ahead of you considering the GrandCentral invite system was killed two years ago.

Agree with you there- I had a similar experience. It almost looks like gmail accounts are being put to the bottom of the list
I received mine a few days ago I think I signed up a few months ago. Unfortunately there is no invites to give. I have tested it on my blackberry and work phone and it works really good. the interface on google is really nice to add/remove phones, it also sends voicemail as emails with the message transcribed to text and a link that you can listen to the audio even from my BB Bold. The only thing I wish would be for a full VOIP app right now I have GV Dialer and Cardkiller and both just dial my local number from my BB then automatically enter in the pin# and outgoing number. It would be nice if it was full VOIP so I could use it on wifi only.
