T-Mobile myTouch 3G strips for the camera

Sure it was just made official this morning but that doesn’t mean our ninjas are going to take their time serving up live shots of T-Mobile’s second Android-powered handset. Behold the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, aka Magic or whatever else you want to call it. We’re sure you’re just as anxious as we are to get your hands on T-Mobile’s version of this sexy HTC phone but in the meantime, hit the jump for more shots of the myTouch 3G lounging around in its retail getup and then stripped naked and powered on. Shameless.

Thanks, Dominic!

To the folks saying “Galaxy has better specs”

You’re referring only to the camera, AMOLED, and memory right??

Any other Tmo phones in the pipeline that are 3G and offer HotSpot calling?

I too live in KC, but don’t have 3G. That’s a sign it is pretty bad. They can’t even blanket every KC zip code, let alone Liberty and the other outlying cities.

    3.2meg cam Vs 5meg
    No flash Vs LED flash
    headphone adaptor Vs 3.5mm jack
    No OLED Vs OLED screen

And up to 40GB in the Samsung too…

    That’s quite a list…!

I saw this phone at T-Mobile training today (my 1st day) and I like the form factor of it, but I wish the portrait keyboard was easier to type on like the iPhone. The landscape keyboard is a lot better and overall the phone performs pretty well. It has a nice weight and it is a little smaller than the iPhone. This is a great start for T-Mobile.

Does anyone know if a software update will come to the G1 with Exchange support since this is branded “with Google” and has support for Exchange? just curious because I had not heard anything.

    @ashley,
Tmobile is still rolling out their 3G network. Here in Indianapolis, we won’t get 3G till Q3 of this year.

T-mo is a European company. Thus more advanced devices are released in Europe first. We in the US will get the lower models. Prime example, USA gets “The Dream” while Europe gets “Magic”. Next round, G2 in the US is actually the hand me down “Magic” while Europe will get the Huawei G3. Expect that G3 to come to the US around the same time next year. No regrets though becaus by the time we get the hand me downs, they’ve already upgraded the software *note, the hardware remains the European version.

Tmo should have used the money to produce a 3.5mm jack instead of wasting it on a stupid fancy case that no one will use.

So many people, so many opinions, so here is mine… If you live in highly populated area (big city) most likely you have or will have access to Tmob 3G, if not, it is still being rolled out to many other areas soon. For people who complain about a 3.5 MM headphone jack, consider this…I beleive that having a phone that will last longer through my day without having to recharge is more important that using my phone as a PMP (mp3 player) and draining the battery, and for all you Iphone users out there dont even go there and say i use it as an ipod all day and browse web and talk and message and dont have to charge by mid day almost. Choose what you want a phone or a PMP batteries are not good enough yet to really accomodate both as of yet. The Magic looks good the form factor is great and the screen in just as big as the g1 which i love, BTW for the poster that said the virtual KB was hard to type on look in the android market for an app called better keyboard, it makes the VK much easier to use.

Yes, the packaging you see posted is actually the packaging that the customer will receive in the mail with their MyTouch 3G. The shiny black thing on the left side of the package is the charger, not an extra battery.

I don’t know guys. I’m getting the Mytouch and giving my wife my G1. to me it’s really about no keyboard. To all comparing this to Iphone 3Gs or Iphones in general, your crazy. Iphone is now at there 4th generation phone. while G1’s/android phones are still in there early stages. dont knock the phone by comparing it to big corporate “Apple”, at least not yet. I ove these phones and with t-mobile customer care, I never have an issue that isnt resolved fairly.
