T-Mobile myTouch 3G strips for the camera

Sure it was just made official this morning but that doesn’t mean our ninjas are going to take their time serving up live shots of T-Mobile’s second Android-powered handset. Behold the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, aka Magic or whatever else you want to call it. We’re sure you’re just as anxious as we are to get your hands on T-Mobile’s version of this sexy HTC phone but in the meantime, hit the jump for more shots of the myTouch 3G lounging around in its retail getup and then stripped naked and powered on. Shameless.

Thanks, Dominic!

Looks nice! I’m not a fan of touchscreen phones anymore, though. I need a physical keyboard. But good job t-mobile.

    I agree with Mike.
I keep seeing the start up screen with all these ninja pictures. I want to see the actual UI. I read that T-Mobile has their own customized UI for it?? Am I wrong? Well if I’m not, I’d like to see how it looks please.

JoeTour is right, T-Mobiles 3G coverage is so poor you must wonder why they put 3G into the name, I guess it’s to trick the uninformed into believing that the phone will access 3G whereever they may roam. Of course, they could have called it the MyTouch 2G or the MyTouch EDGE but those names don’t make the potential mark/customer think data speed.

Sux for everyone who always complains about T-mobiles lack of coverage – I live in Kansas City, MO and it’s been available here for the better part of a year now…If you wanna know “when” go to their website and find out…stop the complaining and get informed

    thanks HD,
maybe the lust for good devices will lure customers to them in the long run, but that could very well be a costly strategy.

What Alex said. I need a nice screen and Exchange support, but after two years with an unlocked HTC S710/Vox, I’m still not convinced I really need a full keyboard. Still not sure I want to drink the iPhone Kool-Aid yet, though….

way to be late to the party once again tmobile…i gave up my sero plan with sprint to get the g1 which blew…then tired of waiting for the g1 successor, apple hits the 99 tag with the 3g and you lose customers including myself

I cant stand the control Apple has on all their products, I will NEVER get an iPhone. Besides, the UI on Android devices is far superior to the iPhones in that its fully customizable to what you want/ need.
Any one know if the packaging in the pictures is the out of the box packaging? If so, That is pretty awesome! You get a compact travel pack for you phone and all its goodies. Brilliant seeing as how its a World Phone this time around. Im thinking upgrade… :)

We’ve had this handset in the UK for a few months now, and I’m surprised T-mobile are pushing it as an upgrade to the G1.

And I’m surprised you guys in the USA have to pay $199 for the privilige of owning one with a 2-year contract! What are the monthly payments for that on top?

At Vodafone UK the HTC Magic (same handset as the myTouch) is FREE on an 18 month contract for £30 a month, or FREE on a 24 month contract for £25 a month (includes the much needed Mobile Internet!).

I think I’d wait for the Samsung Galaxy with much better specs…

I find the complaints about the lack of tmobile 3g funny actually. I mean they just launched it anywere a year ago and the kansas city market got it in december/january and now its already in lawrence ks too. If I remember right at&t didnt have 3g in lawrence until fairly recently so tmobile is moving it out faster but they did just start 12 months ago. I understand if you dont have 3g in your area then yeah sorry for ya and I would possibly consider another carrier too. For me tmobiles 3g is plenty fast and just about anywhere I go so it works well for me. This is coming from a guy who has used a g1 and got tired of it being so big and bulky and Ive also used a 2g iphone and 3g iphone. I will probably still get this phone and replace my iphone 3g but Im not completely satisfied with this phone. It dissappointed me to see the 5.0 mp camera go because the g1 camera was worse than the iphones 2.0mp but I could live without that. I really wanted to see the UMA feature put on this phone but again not a deal breaker. I guess a few things on my wishlist for this phone would be a 3.5 headset jack, even bigger battery(just in case it has some of the terrible g1 battery life tendencies), I hope the music player will actually shuffle(my g1 would play the same song over and over even on shuffle). Im happy the phone is finally coming out but I just dont get how its taking tmobile this long to come out because its been out already and they didnt change much software on it at all. I wouldnt mind waiting this long if it came with the htc hero build and maybe the 5.0 mp camera with uma feature too. Oh well I can dream I guess.

    Still better than the Candians…

Obviously the UK being a much smaller, denser populated control, it’s probably much cheaper to operate a mobile network.

    @ JoeTour:

Posters like you are lame. You make over generalizations of something you don’t understand.

Coverage is both relative and local to each user and their mileage may vary depending on location.

A T-Mobile user or soon to be user may or may not have good service at home/work/gym… but that is for him/her to decide/find out.

If you want to keep preaching hate from your little AT&T Authorized Dealer Mall Kiosk in a sad attempt to deflect the topic, then be my guest. You along with all the other sheep can keep overpaying MaBell for dropped calls, erratic coverage and poor customer service.

    The choice is yours, really….
