Sprint launches LG LX370, Samsung Exclaim and HTC Snap

Believe it or not, Sprint fans, there actually are other new handsets available from the carrier beyond the Palm Pre. You might not think so with all of the focus that the webOS device is — or was — getting, but it is true. Sure there’s the Tour coming down the pipe for all you BlackBerry fans out there, but what about there rest of you? Well, between yesterday and today Sprint has launched three new handsets that should fill in the gaps quite nicely. First up, the LG LX370 was announced today featuring Sprint’s One Click UI, EV-DO Rev. A, a 2 megapixel camera, GPS, Sprint TV, stereo Bluetooth and microSDHC support. Fair enough for a $100 slider (after $50 MIR). Also announced this morning is the Samsung Exclaim, which sports a side-sliding QWERTY keypad along with a 2 megapixel camera, EV-DO Rev. A, GPS, Sprint TV, Sprint One Click UI and microSDHC support. The Exclaim is a touch more affordable at $80 after a $50 MIR. Last but not least, the HTC Snap finally decided to join the party yesterday. Already available from Best Buy and Radio Shack, the Snap has already been detailed a zillion times so just know that it’ll run you $150 after a $100 MIR if you want to snag it directly from Sprint. See anything you like?

Is the snap the same as the ‘ozone’ of VZ?
The Snap is good for somebody who hasnt had a smartphone before and its Only 400 off contract. That Exclaim is gonna make teens think twice about getting a Rant or a Rumor though.
Now can we PLEASE get some dates on the Pro 2 & Tour. All they have left is that Samsung Dash & Ace. If only that Roadmap Had Q4 on it.
JoeTour,
Pretty much, though I think Snap has a trackball and the Ozone does not?
I wish our HTC Snap looked as good as T-Mobile’s.
Ours seems bland(just business) in comparison…
I partially blame HTC for making 3 Versions of One Phone…Based on the HTC roadmap Sprints Snap is really the “Cedar” and Verizons Ozone is the “Willow”…T-Mobile gets the Orignal Snap.. A Big mess…
Garbage X 3!!!
Outdated garbage, nothing that is new, or has not been sold by SPRINT before, 2.0 MP same as my m610 of 2006!!
Sprint your funeral is at hand, hand in hand with the current outdated line up, and the enforcement of Everything Plans or exclusion of choices for flagship phones to current customers, vs the deep pocketed competition’s broad range of selection!
On a different note, just as an example of what is going on with Sprint, I met up with someone showing me ABC news on a different carrier using mobiTV, the stream was gorgeous on a Nokia E71 (I think), not to be outdone, I pulled out my Samsung m610 , went into the “channel lineup”, to pull up CNN mobile, which I have used for 5 years, guess what ? Not only is it removed, it is nowhere in any line up even for any upgrade, mind you it was standard in my package for years, for the first time the “news lineup”, is “blank”!
ABCNews is part of another premium package, what the hell, happened to CNN mobile ??
It has simply been guted, without any warning or notice!
Why? I pay my bill, month after month, year after year! How is that legal?
Do I get a reduction of fees, based on reduction of services?
I purchased 3 dozens songs of the Sprint Music site, guess what none of the legaly downloaded copies work, they pocketed the money and closed the PC download shop option and support!
These are facts, how do they do it?
They are BK period, they are going to cut back till there is nothing left to cut,and they get away with it, why do they get away you ask?
Because the FCC is also BK, they are underfunded, understaffed and simply can not provide the manpower to pursue these and other issues, and they have to pick and choose their battles, and the industry knows it, hence the blatant abuse!
I am getting ready to draft a letter to the U.S. Senate, for the purpose of the creation of a “Cell Phone Consumer Bill of Rights”!
Enough is enough!
Thank You
@ F1…..you have no life at all !
I have heard the Exclaim also comes with a 2D barcode reader called ScanLife.
@ F1 yea sprints going bk because you pay for services and dont know how to use them. Then dont know how to send ecare an email or call cs. I have had similar issues resolved in less than 5 mins. Grow up if you didnt know cnn was gone you obviuosly dont use it. If it was there last month but now they would have easily issued a credit. Shut the hell up the two dumb phones are low range phones.. remember the m610 was sprints palm pre at that time.. and the snap is far from outdated and has specs that can hang with any non touch screen smartphone.. Your jus pissed you got burned for being lazy.
who cares about this garbage phones…wheres the Tour?
I do agree on the tv point from sprint. They took off like 10 channels with no notice to customers. But its a long way from verizon crippling devices and att’s outdated over loaded network. Sprint has its place and again no network is perfect, pick what works for you. These phones again, will hang with any non touch phone out there. They are the bottom of the top and the top of the bottom. Sprint like any other carrier is trying to fill the gap between smartphone user and traditional user with offerings like these.
@Celz
1.
Are you a Sprint employee, with a bias position, look up “full disclosure”, when you pay for a service, it is their “fiduciary” responsibility and duty to provide the sevice throughout the paid period, regardless whether the consumer uses the service once, everyday or never, period.
You can not unilaterly make changes without disclosing it to the client/consumer, and when caught, say:”Ok I will credit your account, now that you found out”,that constitutes fraud!
2.
About the Hardware, you Sir again, have no clue whatsoever, what you are talking about.
To call the Samsung m610, the PalmPre of its time, is too of the mark to even respond to.
Advice:
Please, next time do your homework first, before name calling someone else, “lazy”!
Thank You
The verizon verison is lower in price and has wifi unlike the sprint one.
Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).
F1: When someone provides you a service, they don’t have a fiduciary responsibility. Fiduciary is the highest level of responsibility- like a corporate officer towards his corporation or a parent towards a child.
You’re angry but you really don’t know what you’re talking about.
wow- i love the fighting….
@F1, what if it was cnn’s doing and NOT sprints that removed the channel? Then what? Just curious…by the way you get what you pay for right? Doesn’t Sprint tout being cheaper?
number one your lazy because if you would have contacted sprint when cnn stopped being made available they would have gladly gave you a credit. If you watched cnn as much as you claim you would have noticed it missing within two weeks. And the same goes for the songs you purchased. If you wait a few months they will think your lazy and probably wont give you anything. And sprint doesnt have to notify every customer every time it makes a change to sprint tv. That’s ridiculous, you can misconstrue as many big words as you want but we all know that’s not the case.
and as for the hardware the m610 was one of the most advanced phones available in the US at the release date just like the pre was. So comparing the m610 to entry level phones is just as stupid as you claiming fiduciary duty.
Sprint sent out – to me anyway – numerous emails about the sprint tv lineup change. As well as when they changed sprint music storre. It was like october of last year when you no longer got a copy of your music on pc as well as phone. They even had snips on the website reminding people to download any purchased music as a pc copy before that deadline.
F1, let it go. I use tv occasionally and open my bills so I knew about the changes.
@Bob
Point of reference for all,per Dictionary.com:
Fiduciary responsibility:
–noun 1. Law. a person to whom property or power is entrusted for the benefit of another.
–adjective 2. Law. of or pertaining to the relation between a fiduciary and his or her principal: a fiduciary capacity; a fiduciary duty.
3. of, based on, or in the nature of trust and confidence, as in public affairs: a fiduciary obligation of government employees.
4. depending on public confidence for value or currency, as fiat money.
———-
Some people place the value “respect” and “honor”, to their “word”,you either fulfill your duty or not,the ranking of it i.e. “highest”, does not the matter, it is the point of responsibility of the contract:
a, Real Estate
b, Stocks
c, Merchandise
d, Service
You either deliver upon payment, or you don’t, in which case you are in “breach of contract”.
@ ~Phel
It would be the service provider’s responsibility, if I was paying CNN mobile directly, they would be the party responsible.
“you get what you pay for right”?
In that case anyone could advertise a service, and not provide it, hence being subjected to lawsuits and becoming liable for “false advertising”. As a consumer on a contract I entrust the provider for services advertised during the contract agreement, It is smart to shop around there after, but most do not have the time or the means to do so, that is why we have the FCC, to protect the consumer rights.

@Celz
1. CNN is one of 2 dozen of my news sources, CNN mobile was a novelty service in my repertoire, I just was going to demo the Sprint transmission quality to the other party,I don’t have to use everything I pay for, but it better be there for when I need it!
2.”if you would have contacted sprint when cnn stopped being made available they would have gladly gave you a credit”, interesting verbage, unlike you I don’t have the time to baby sit my Cell service provider.
3.”If you watched cnn as much as you claim you would have noticed it missing within two weeks. And the same goes for the songs you purchased. If you wait a few months they will think your lazy and probably wont give you anything.”
The Songs purchased and downloaded were not suppose to expire, unlike gift cards that could expire, if so they should have clearly posted the expiration date.
Regarding News,
ever heard of Twitter,RSS,Internet?
4.”And sprint doesnt have to notify every customer every time it makes a change to sprint tv.”
You are awfully defensive for a non-employee, and again yes they have to inform the consumer, if they change the lineup,just as the cable company does,consult your attorney.
5.”and as for the hardware the m610 was one of the most advanced phones available in the US at the release date just like the pre was. So comparing the m610 to entry level phones is just as stupid as you claiming fiduciary duty.”
Here is a chance for you to prove your depth of product knowledge.Why don’t you post the specs of the Samsung m610 next to the PalmPre, for all to judge freely, just to prove that you are not lazy??
We let the blog judge who the “stupid” one is!
Thank You
@gog8rs
None of my purchased downloaded copies work, I never got any line up change notice, but that is standard “irregularity @ Sprint”.
It is just the principle that matters.
@Don
Same here, but what else is new, Sprint sold 50.000 PalmPre units, vs. 1.000.000 iPhoneS units for Apple, just amazing AT&T even adjusted the discount policy for current iPhone customers,to keep them happy,the difference speaks volumes.
Thank You
F1, clearly you aren’t happy with the current changes/phones/plans so cut your loses and find the greener pastures. Wasn’t this about 3 new phones, not the Pre, so what is tv options and mp3 service have to do with it
@Don Louie
Rest assured I will,after 11.5 years,when the time is right,just like millions of other customers.
Thank You
You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about………and I HIGHLY doubt you’re a sprint costumer.
Has the anonymous F1 ever posred before? Who knows if he’s right, wrong, or in between? His posts are obviously too long.
@ BG:
Pre or Tour?
Thank-you for your cooperation,
Conrad Hernandez
