Rogers releases the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

If you’re a Nokia fan who lives in Canada and just so happens to have $199.99 burning a hole in your pocket, it might interest you to know Rogers has released the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Available nation-wide as of today, the 5800 XpressMusic is a multimedia-centric S60 5th Edition smartphone with specs that include a 3.2-inch 640×360 resistive touchscreen display, 3.2 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, auto-focus and dual-LED flash, 3.6Mbps HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi and aGPS. An 8GB microSD card also comes in the box to help pique your interest, though after playing around with one ourselves we’re not exactly convinced many Canadians are going to be picking up this device considering how many other awesome options there are in the same price range.

    because i said so says:

    #1:Papua New Guinea
    #2: Federated States of Micronesia
    #3: Ghana
    #4: Zambia

But just because it is in print doesn’t mean it was true. I was just trying to find a clever way to bitch about the stupid high (get it) prices that our brothers and sisters to the north must endure for even mediocre mobile devices.

I’d rock one for, but 200 is a tad steep.

$200 for a 2-year contract locked to Rogers??
Heck it makes HELLUVA more sense to just get this phone unlocked online for $225-$250.

I wonder what the price is off contract? If it more that $400 then it’s a rip off!

I just checked, 399.99 off contract and with taxes it came out to $457 in BC. I can get it for less on another site and it will be unlocked.

Why don’t people that want to listen to music just buy MP3 players?

@Technology Slice: Because that would imply that people have common sense, which clearly they don’t.
