Jailbreak your iPhone OS 3.0 device, 3G S owners need not apply
The iPhone Dev Team updated its blog to include full instructions on jailbreaking your iPhone OS 3.0 device using redsn0w — the multi-platform, multi-device jailbreaking and unlocking tool. Redsn0w only supports the iPhone 2G (original iPhone), iPhone 3G and the iPod touch (first and second generation) for the time being. The latest iPhone 3G S is not yet supported for jailbreaking or unlocking so don’t try to use it on your brand new phone! Jailbreaking is supported across all devices running OS 3.0, except for the 3G S, and unlocking is only available for the iPhone 2G. 3G owners need to wait for the upcoming ultrasn0w to be released in order to unlock their OS 3.0 devices. Head over to the dev team blog for the appropriate torrent files and instructions.

Apple have the right idea, the’re in it for the $$$ they don’t give a shit about what the other companies are putting in their phones. If they can sell a phone that doesn’t have flash, doesn’t have 8 mpxl camera, bluetooth file sharing or anything that may have been standard in phones 5 years ago and still make a shitload of money, good on them. If every year they come out with a new phone with features that should have been standard in the first one, and STILL sell it and STILL make a shitload of money, who’s to say they shouldn’t? From a business standpoint, the’re kicking ass.

I’ll tell you what the blackberry hasn’t had for 8 years, cams ahoy, jailbreak apps, better games, orb live, netflix, dc metro maps, google earth, I can go on, how long before BB runs out of saying ” there’s an app for that”. Lol apple do care about it’s customers from experience. It’s funny how BB feels threaten by iPhones. I guess thier storm isn’t taking the world anymore.

Here’s the deal. You can hate Apple and AT&T all you want, but they did one major thing right. They made every iPhone owner buy a data plan. That may sound stupid, but imagine your iPhone or BB without it. It’s a paperweight. It’s useless. Yeah, a BB can send mms, but can every BB owner check their email?No. Yeah, a BB can shoot video, but can ever BB owner surf the web? No. The iPhone can now do anything a BB can do, but easier, faster, and without the need to push all those microscopic buttons. If you’re still convinced that your BB is the better phone, ask yourself one question : why is the entire OS of a BB 48 MB, when an iPhone UPDATE is over 200 MB. Scary. Ok, I’ve gotta go and fill up the 32 gigs of space I have. How much storage is on your Curve???
How are you going to loose your jailbreak apps? If they come loose you can just tighten them up.
@ Scott…..I can send an MMS from my iPhone. How does that happen. Oh yes. iPhone is MMS capable. It’s stupid AT&T that won’t allow it. Lucky i am in the Land Down Under, where we have a choice of 4 different providers too. And MMS and tethering.

I upgraded my 1.1.3 OS 2G iPhone Saturday to OS 3.0, then unlocked and jailbroke it using RedSnOw. Worked like a charm. I just followed the instructions over at iClarified (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4302). It is now working quite nicely on T-Mobile. Life is good!!!
Seriously, I used to hate on iphones like crazy when i had a BB but it only took 5min in my hand and i was hooked for life…..
Ok I’m not sure if this applies but, I had sent a mms text message from my phone and added pics/photos, I used my email as recepient and went into my email from iPhone while in email I had 3 options 1of which was save files (3photos) after I saved them they showed up in camera roll.
who cares who has the most % of the market…. its about your preference… whats the next arguemant? who controls the computer market… asses….
OK, had to post something…. I love both phones for different reasons. Iphone is pretty and very cool. Does it stand up to Blackberry? NO. A blackberry is for smart people, is it just that way. I want my Im’s, emails and contacts right away and done correctly. The push capabilities on an Iphone are crap, we all know that. But, a Blackberry cannot play Quake or tons of other cool games that an Iphone can. A blackberry is my workhorse and the Iphone is a toy.
And O yea… ATT SUCKS IT IN EVERY WAY. The Iphone and ATT together is like two children trying to con everyone.
Blackberry and Sprint is like an amazing service that is cheap and smart peeps can actually use in business and geekness.
