webOS 1.0.3 hath cometh
Got a Palm Pre and haven’t heard the news that an update for webOS is now available? Well now you have absolutely no excuse for not downloading the 13MB update that will bump you up to version 1.0.3. And why should you? Because we know darn well that you care about enhanced synchronization with Google services, Non-SSL Exchange ActiveSync support and a whole host of bug-fixing goodness. Oh, and battery life is supposedly improved. Woo!
Thanks, everyone!

You guys complaining…try owning the crapberry shitstorm…we had to wait over 6 months for our first update, and our phone still sucks! Ever tried using the piece of garbage RIM calls a browser?
@ 5th
You’re telling – he (she?) needs a name? You mean like, oh I don’t know, 4th? Or 6th? Seeing as how 5th is taken. Nice “name.”
And you’re telling – not to hate on people who are first? The People Who are First demographic are the douchiest group there is. So if – hates on you, sounds about right.
@ BGR
Is there a concensus as to where Pre fits in the pecking order of devices? My son cut his hand pretty bad on one at the sprint store, but setting that aside, it seemed like a real nice device.
Thank-you for your cooperation,

Iphone = Talking Brick!!!!
Dan

aren’t these updates recommended or else?
oh yeah whoever you are dash shit yeah you’re a nobody “-” you need a name sucker .
The Pre being in stock now is another drawback
Wanna switch from my curve on Sprint any suggestions?
with regards to new Web Os 1.0.3:
“Events created in your Google calendar—either in Calendar on your phone or in Google online—that contain a symbol or accented character in the event name can now synchronize. Previously, including a symbol or accented character in an event name prevented the event from synchronizing.”
Not entirely true! I did the update but Google still will not sync entries in Palm Calendar with Google calendar if they contain the symbol “&” (ie. “Mom & Dad are visiting”) This is a big deal for me because I input more calendar events on the go in my Pre than in Google calendar. I need them both to be in sync…but they’re not. Please fix this problem Palm.
Wow, i just ran the update, my pre is faster, the screen seems to be clearer, the keyboard is easier to use, and i grew another testicle!
@ Leon
Props to you buddy, i completely agree. Iphone is a great phone and the Palm Pre is making some pretty big wakes itself. Everyone has there own taste… well except Ryan (third post)
If you have the nerve to show the weaknesses of this Pre phone … the Terrorists have won.
Was there ever a Part 2 to that Palm Pre “review”?
I’m gonna regret this.
@ thenerve
How have the terrorists won?
Thank-you for your cooperation,
Conrad Hernandez
5th is just pissed because his lame ass didn’t get to say “first”. Hey 5th, NOBODY CARES, get a life and get over it.
@officer23, I think the Pre is probably your best bet if you want to stay on Sprint. I definitely had a tough time weighing between the Bold and Pre, and though the Bold has a nicer speakerphone and a better keyboard (because of it’s wider size) the Pre really is quite capable. I’ve got big hands and can type at the same pace as my old Touch Pro.
As for software? I think Palm has kept the natural and simple interface Blackberrys and iPhone have, but also added some wonderful gestures that speed multitasking up. It’s all personal preference, but overall I’ve been very happy with my Pre, I feel like it blended the things I liked most from Blackberry/Windows Mobile/iPhone and added a few little things. It has some features that I hope Palm will be adding soon (I miss my smartdial from Windows Mobile for example, opening the keyboard each time I make a call is an added step on an otherwise very direct OS) but overall I think it’s as close to a “perfect blend” between the beauty/simplicity of the iPhone and the business use of Windows Mobile or Blackberry.
Cut your son’s hand on a Pre? Didn’t you ever see Seven Pounds? That guy KILLED 7 people using his Blackberry. Now you compare!
Those with the updated OS, can you now open a message on hotmail.com? The previous OS let me log in to hotmail, but not open a message.
I hope msn messenger comes out soon for the PRE as it is all I use.
Updated my phone. Battery life still bad and i get no reception at work and fair reception at home.
I love web OS, and I really wanted to love sprint since they give you a great value. But I think I’ll just get an iphone and be done with it.
Who else is looking for part II to the Pre review?
^jus like their support group, a very whimpy whiney minority
BM’s screen is cracked in the gesture area, looks like it’s not just a cheap feel
^Waz a BM?
BM= Baby Mama
