So long, T-Mobile Unlimited Loyalty Plan

It was fun while it lasted folks, but all good things must come to an end. Apparently loyalty can only take you so far as T-Mobile reportedly prepares to retire its very attractive Unlimited Loyalty Plan. To refresh your memory, ULP gives loyal customers with solid payment histories unlimited minutes for $50 per month, unlimited data for $25 per month and a bunch of other great plan options. While the plan is still available to eligible customers, it will supposedly be retired some time between now and the end of June. In other words, if unlimited is your bag and you haven’t yet explored ULP as an option, it’s definitely time to get on the horn and see what Tmo can do for you before the offer expires.

It would be nice if they brought back BuddyTime since they like to “..stick together”

BuddyTime – $9.99 Unlimited Mobile to Mobile and Unlimited Texts, Pics, Videos, IM Messaging.

I mean, now with the packages including Unlimited Mobile to Mobile on higher ups, no need, but still $9.99 for unlimited texts when I had it, was a fucking deal and a half, so much I used 10,000 the first month, to people who paid $0.05 per message. HAHAHA!

Oh, and by the way, the ULP doesnt really retain loyalty unless its locked with a 1 year agreement.

^^ I had an issue with that as when I opted for the ULP they removed my unlimited texts….T-mobile later had to credit me nearly $1,243 in overages for removing my unlimited texts. I was pissed….and I had them explain to me in writing what the ULP is. So I didn’t have to sign an agreement or upgrade it simply was added to my plan. And I’m still contract free!!! Well that is until I get the

    Der der Driftwood 9600!!!!!

They have offered it to me several times but I have had to take a pass. I am on the 300 monthly minutes for $29.99 plan and rarely if ever go over 200 minutes. The ULP plan would have had me signing a contract (contract free three years now) and paying $25 more a month (including taxes and fees) and it would have meant nothing to me. I would prefer to have calls Canada added to my included minutes or some kind of free texting (though I don’t use that either) or data. I think T-Mobile’s marketing computers should have scanned people account activity to try and lineup offers with what people might actually use.

What’s your take on the ‘trackpad’ on the ONYX ?
Looks like ATT is going to offer a trackball and a trackpad onyx according to phonearena.
Also, I would think that we should introduce a bill in congress to end all limitations, period. We sould be able to have Tmo prices, ATT’s latest devices (ok, untill LTE comes around, after that VZ will have the better selection) and all on VZ’s network.
    Can you hear me now???

ULP does NOT require a contract extension. you have to ask for it though. they have two options: contract/non contract. just let it be known to the rep you speak to.

and it’s not going away, just the 135 dollar bill credit is on june 30th. the ulp will still be available to eligible customers. it just won’t be proactively offered.

    @JoeTour

When the tour comes out, I probably gonna get it unless there’s a new leak on the T-mobile map about the Driftwood 9600 ( GSM Tour ). I have t-mobile and my plans is roughly $62-Max with taxes, and I have unlimited everything! ( 9 years and counting-since voicestream. )So I don’t wanna jump ship just yet. In addition T-mobile doesn’t have the best coverage but where I live I’m definetly covered and my friends with iphones can’t say the same in my neighborhood. So come on BGR leak some info.

P.S. The Onxy, eh I haven’t seen really any specs yet so for now I don’t care. Dir dr dr “Driftwood!”

Crap forgot to mention Crackberry confirmed that the “Onxy 9020″ will indeed only come with a trackpad, Rim is moving away from the trackball! All devices after the “tuh tuh Tour” will include only a trackpad. I kinda hate it when my hands sweat and I can’t scroll up.

Wait till you get your bill for the unlimited loyalty plan. I seen one a family member has and they were billed $149 for first two lines and $49 each for next two. He has been with them for 11 years. I just got mine today and I too was billed the same way. This is the same cost as a new subscriber pays!

Hey guys, so a little info… the unlimited plan is not going away quite yet, it is the $135.00 port in credit that is actually going away! I work for T-mobile and it was something we just learned about in a meeting. The last day of the port in credit is June 30th, but the unlimited plan is still in effect with no date yet when it will be unavailable! So if you are eligable to for the port in credit, you better switch that line over from Verizon before next Friday!
    Hope this helps!

^ It is a discount. We have the $89.99 unlimited family plan, and the same plan w/o loyalty is $149.98.

Luckily, we were also able to get the $9.99 unlimited messages for family (we previously didn’t have a message plan), and I have the grandfathered $19.99 Blackberry BIS. I could still get the $9.99 Blackberry email plan, but I really need the data.

    Pretty good deal.

There is only ONE version of the plan, and that is non-contractual. There is absolutely no requirement for a contract when you select the plan.

We currently have four people on our family plan, the $69.99 700 minute plan (the cheapest one since we rarely even go over). Would upgrading to this plan be even worth it for us? Or woulkd it be more expensive? Would I be able to just get the unlimited messaging for $9.99??

    Thumb up Thumb down 0

    SGoose says:

    Jane,
It would be less expensive for you to stay on the plan that you’re currently on.. depending on your usage. if you never go over the 700 minutes, I’d stay with your current plan.
the unlimited plan for families starts at 89.98 for the first 2 phones and is 39.99 for your 3rd and 4th lines. coming to $100 more than your current plan. I’d recommend staying where you’re at just based on the huge price difference.

In order to get unlimited messaging for 9.99, I’m not sure that’s an option. I’ve heard of it before.. but the site advertises it at 24.95 for a family plan. although I know they used to offer it at 19.95. I’d call and see what they can do for you :-)

The $25 for unlimited data isn’t a special price…anyone can get it.

I’m glad I have my 19.99 BB data and 9.99 unlim messages with the 49.99 Unlimited Loyalty. Best plan ever!

I plan to keep this plan for a very long time. It won’t go away as long as I don’t remove it. :)
