Happy iPhone 3G S day, boys and girls!

Today is the day to pack up your toys, gadgets and snacks, and head out to Apple/AT&T/Rogers/Fido/Carphone Warehouse or wherever else if you didn’t order your iPhone online to be shipped. After all, it’s either lines today or a test of patience down the road. Be sure you are well prepared and are up to date on pricing and details on grabbing your iPhone; we wouldn’t want to see anyone turned away after spending an entire morning or afternoon (or both) braving the elements, wherever you are. After all the pics and updates we’ve given you, everything has finally culminated to this moment. Let us know what lines in your area are like — if there even are lines in your area — and how easy or difficult it was to leave the store with your shiny, new iPhone 3G S in hand!
Only about 25 people in the AT&T line in (Oklahoma City) this morning I got mine around 8:30am. I was shocked.

Can you fill me in on what exactly it would take for an iPhone to go CDMA? I thought it was just slapping a CDMA radio in there an voila?
what everyone forgets is that in a couple of years, verizon and at&t will run the same network – LTE.
That line in the photo is definitly not for the iphone. Looks like a line for black Friday at walmart to me… could have sad something instead making people think lines are that long… most people preordered and there’s just not enuff hype for a phone that’s the same as the 1 before it.
That picture must me in Alaska, since they are all wear winter coats, or maybe it ia a black friday picture.

i agree, verizon does lock everything down, i have my grievences w/att but at the same time dont understand all the VZW fanboys slamming att when an iPhone on big red would be chopped off at the knees

Wow all the hype over a video camera and a compass. What idiots Apple ppl are. Who uses a compass when GPS is out and a video camera comes standard on the cheapest phone. What other outdated features will Apple come up with, a pager function on the 3G S 2.0?
Mine will be here in a week or so. I’ve never owned one so it’s a good time to buy. And when my 2 year is up, the 2011 version will have everything everyone wished the 2010 model had. :p

I showed up to the mission viejo apple store @ 7, my purchase was completed @ 8… Not too bad if you ask me… When I was leaving they only had 15 iPhones left for walk up customers.

Yeah I remember the Pre. LOL. Its the phone that was supposed to beat the iPhone that everyone has forgotten about shortly after release. LOL. Pre is like the instinct was. They hyped it to hell, but in the end nobody cared except for a few rabid fans. Pre did a bit better though … I give them credit for that.

I don’t think you know how LTE works. No it does not mean AT&T and Verizon will be running the same network just because they both decide to use LTE. LTE works seamlessly with CDMA and GSM. So regardless of them both using LTE, Verizon will still be CDMA, and AT&T will still be GSM. They will still have GSM and CDMA versions of the phones.

So everyone who goes to StarBucks are douchbags? Last I checked StarBucks is a popular place to get coffee, especially when people have money. So Starbucks strategically places their stores outside places like the Apple store, Macy’s, or any other place where people like to spend money.
