Alleged live shot of Motorola Morrison surfaces, pays tribute to BGR

We love Motorola as much as the next tech site and it looks like Moto loves us right back. In what is reportedly the first live shot of Motorola’s upcoming Android handset, known now only by the codename “Morrison”, Moto’s upcoming device is dressed in some sexy, sexy colors. White and royal blue… BGR approves. Of course it’s entirely possible that Moto’s adoration of BGR had nothing at all to do with the Morrison’s design, but we’re going to go ahead and stick to our original story. Yeah. Beyond its dress, the build on the Morrison doesn’t appear quite up to par with other Motorola handsets coming down the pipe so it could be a safe assumption that we’re looking at a very affordable price point here. Of course there is no way of telling if the image above is of a production model — or even if it’s real — so that’s just speculation for the time being. Excited? Hey, at the very least we won’t have to send ours to ColorWare once we get our hands on it…

Thanks, Stanly!

    I like it.

Screen looks like it might be a bit small but I’ll wait to see what the actual specs have to say.

I like the minimalist buttons for an android phone (I imagine they’ll be soft keys).

@JakeyBoy: Yeah there was some confusion about that.

In fact there is still a bit of confusion because the bigfoot was being called the G1v2 and since then there have been several others saying that the G1v2 is still going to be a HTC made device and the bigfoot (samsung) and the morrison are just going to be other android devices.

The phones doesn’t look that bad, nice colors just looksa a little cheap (but then, what phone doesn’t look weird in these kinda shots). Also the screen does look a little small. Like someone else said, I’ll wait till we find out the specs and judge from there.

And from most phones I’ve seen, the dpad is always on the left. I personally would think it was kinda weird if it was on the right side, but to each its own.

@tande04 – at least you see my point. bgr was all over the map on the names and respective companies that went with the names.

You know, the more I look at this the more I notice things. While dpads on the left isn’t bad, in this design, does seem like it might be a little weird. And the keyboard does look kinda cramp (there’s no row just for numbers).

Im thinking this will be a level entry android phone. Cheaper then the other ones in regards to material, camera, and price.

Clearly Motorola and T-Mobile are aiming for an entry-level android device for the texting set. This thing probably won’t cost more than $79 (I’m betting on $49 or less), and will be a way for T-mobile to spread android beyond the geeky set that the G1 attracted. (the mytouch will help, but it still isn’t that great)

Plus, if the recently released Rival is any indication, the colors you see above may not be the final release choices.

I very, very rarely have seen a phone or anything with the joystick on the right. I’d like to know what you’re referring to.

That said, what the HELL is up with T-Mobile and their color schemes.

Don’t worry about qwerty keyboard. Motorola has experience to make comfort qwerty keyboard (ex. Motorola Q9h; that’s phone before BlackBerry Bold).

That’s an early prototype for sure. The newer one has black instead of white by the lit-up homescreen button. It’s definitely made for teens with the features it will have included with it.
