Apple iPhone 3G S Unboxing

We know, we know. This isn’t like last year when we were the first to have an iPhone 3G, but come on, we’re the first to have one that’s not supposed to have one yet. That’s got to count for something? Since the phone isn’t activated at the moment, there’s not much to show besides some glamor shots. So click on over to the gallery to get your fill of iPhone 3G S greatness, my OS X-loving friends.

    so… What do we see here exactly? Nothing changed on the outside and the box/accessories look the same, too. Why do we need this post?

    @Sean

    Honestly from the short period of time I’ve messed with it, it looks like a huge improvement without having a totally different surface feel. But the real test is after some extended use. Will report back!

    We received ours in today. Could tell by the box you used a store’s demo model. Definitely feels slightly heavier than the last 3G which is a good thing & noticed the apps run very smooth. I’m looking forward to having mine tmorrow.

    After a hands on I can say although it’s a LOT like the 3G, it is better. Camera is nice. Video is VERY nice. Clear as hell and responsive. The compass works in google maps. There is zero lag time when scrolling web pages no matter how fast (checkerboarding while the page loads up).

    Side by side the 3GS loaded web pages faster somehow, even though our network runs about 1.5Mbit in our area.

    Voice Command…. not so sure on that one. “play artist Kanye West” returns “playing artist: bob dillon”. “play artist bob dillon” returns “playing some whack ass artist you don’ know about”. Verdict still out on that.

    Glass still smudged plenty. Phone was responsive as hell though, you can feel a difference in the performance. Worth the extra 100 bucks.

    And this was worthy of a post for what reason?

    This phone looks exactly like the last…so seriously what was the purpose of this post?

    Oh I know why…you just wanted to show everyone you have an IPhone 3G S first…

    BGR, we know you’re jumping for joy like a little school girl, but I don’t see how this post is news worthy. This site has been inflated with a lot of redundant Iphone 3GS news lately. I think BGR markets Apple products more than Apple lately.. lol
