Nokia N86 8MP hits London this Friday
Following what must have been an intense prayer circle attended by each and every Nokia fan in the US, the N97 somehow found its way into customers’ hands in the US before its European counterpart. Unheard of. With the hopes that a trend of timely US releases will follow, it might just be safe to presume the N86 8MP will find its way to store shelves in the next week or so. As revealed by the Nokia Flagship store in London, the photog’s dream of a handset is due to drop in the UK this coming Friday, June 19th. Our hope is that a US release happens around the same time and considering the handset is already shipping worldwide, it shouldn’t be long now. Man, what a month…

If only it had Xenon and a 3D Accelerator chip, I could retire my current phone. Oh the Joy I had when it was announced until the sadness came when I realized that the phone had 2 major negatives compared to my N82. Nokia needs to step it up and make a true photographers phone because lighting is not always ample and Xenon (done properly) makes a world of difference in night/evening/indoors shots.
Come on Nokia, daddy needs a new phone and doesn’t want to have a daytime photo phone and a nightime photo phone.

It really is a shame that people in the US rely on sites like this one to make their decision on whether or not to buy phones. Especially european phones that cant be checked out at a store.
I dont wanna start anything here but,
How could they possible have anything positive to say about this device, when their review of the N97 was so harsh? I mean, its like they spend five minutes with the N97, realized it wasnt an iphone, and decided to hate it.
How can the N86 possibly make a different impression here when the OS is the same?
I’m a former Iphone 3g user, now e71 user and its clear that BGR just doesnt understand Nokia phones. Maybe if nokia made a phone with a super slick interface and crippled to entirely absent, features; it would be received more positively here.

I really think that this is BG’s replacement for his N95-4. I mean, aside from the smaller screen, its a better phone in almost every other way, and I’d def consider it an upgrade. Well, its definitely an upgrade from my current N95-3. That’s for sure.

Yes, it works on AT&T’s network. Just make sure you get the US version.
