Verizon Wireless to officially announce BlackBerry Tour and release date tomorrow?
We just got a tip from a new tipster saying that Verizon Wireless will finally officially announce the BlackBerry Tour along with a release date tomorrow morning. This is not confirmed but would make sense given the July release date window is fast approaching and they’d want to avoid people switching carriers for upcoming handsets. The Tour website on Verizon’s site would also allegedly go live at announcement, and that is www.verizonwireless.com/Tour
Anyone heard anything about this?
If this is true, I will cancel my iPhone contract, Verizon desperately needs a new blackberry device, the STORM just flat out sucks!!! Its strange that the worst cell phone providers (AT&T) get the cool the phones first, and the best cell phone network providers (VERIZON WIRELESS) gets the crappy phones, or gets last years hot phones. Has anybody ever noticed this?

i couldn’t wait any longer. my 2 years on ATT went up last week – my Pearl is on its last legs – so i picked up an iPhone this weekend. after 3 days i miss my BB tremendously. my fallback will be the 8900 if i can’t deal with this thing after 30 days. would love to see the Tour come out in time though.

Besides there is a difference between an Official Release Announcement from a service provider and speculation/rumored inside info on a Tech rumor site such as BGR.

Ok, so basically what the Tour is, is the guts of the Bold, but in a smaller package like the 8900 Curve that was released not too long ago?

Eh…not really. It has the same processor and chipset as the Storm not the Bold. But rumor has it that the processor will be clocked faster.

If BB could somehow mesh the Bold with the Storm we would be all set.

Today, I get home from work at around 4:30 and get check out my favorite sites (one of which is BGR) only to notice the usual losers who post TUH TUH etc. on every single article whether blackberry related or not about the newest blackberry…. (that is just like all the other ones that are already out on carriers that don’t cripple everything they brand their name on (VZW))
I then post my typical “bring the trolls back down to reality” post, which of course gets a rise out of the usual trolls whom I think many of which are actually the same person (JoeTour=grrr).
After going to the gym, making dinner, and washing my car I come back to the computer only to find the usual TourTrolls in full out flame war armageddon.
I’m not going to pull out the cliche get out of your mom’s basement lines, but seriously… do any of you that can only type that four letter word actually do anything productive in life?
The tour is simply a wanabee Bold with less features.
