Verizon Wireless to officially announce BlackBerry Tour and release date tomorrow?
We just got a tip from a new tipster saying that Verizon Wireless will finally officially announce the BlackBerry Tour along with a release date tomorrow morning. This is not confirmed but would make sense given the July release date window is fast approaching and they’d want to avoid people switching carriers for upcoming handsets. The Tour website on Verizon’s site would also allegedly go live at announcement, and that is www.verizonwireless.com/Tour
Anyone heard anything about this?

It’ll be the best CDMA non-touch Blackberry out. The GSM Blackberries like the Bold and the Onyx crap on it specs wise but it’ll still be a good phone. If you’re on Verizon, the Tour will be the best smart phone available to you basically.

I don’t get it…. The Tour is the Bold minus wifi… and unless you have very feminine hands I don’t see the big deal about a couple millimeters difference in width.
I guess it’s a big deal if you are stuck on Verizon because of contract, but seriously, its just a mashed up 8900/9000.

I ditched my BB dependency in Jan and I am not looking back. Been a BB user since the PDA days (before phone feature). I was overjoyed after cop’n a 7250. It meant carrying only one device for email and phone. Kept that bitch for 5 yrs. Now I roc the Samsung Saga. It does everything my 7250 did and then some.
The only thing that pisses me off (no not WinMo) is Verizon’s inexplicable decision to lock out GPS. I can’t tell u how many times I had to ask someone for a zipcode while at an airport. I can’t use MS Live search easily w/o pinpointing my exact location -something GPS can do automatically.
Verizon needs to be sued by companies with LBS applications. Where are all the lawyers!??
