Verizon Wireless to officially announce BlackBerry Tour and release date tomorrow?

We just got a tip from a new tipster saying that Verizon Wireless will finally officially announce the BlackBerry Tour along with a release date tomorrow morning. This is not confirmed but would make sense given the July release date window is fast approaching and they’d want to avoid people switching carriers for upcoming handsets. The Tour website on Verizon’s site would also allegedly go live at announcement, and that is www.verizonwireless.com/Tour
Anyone heard anything about this?

why would you ask us?
Honestly, just let ppl be. It doesn’t benefit you at all trying to ruin someone elses excitment over this. If it does benefit you tho, then you are just a really sad individual.
Let the BB fans keep saying “tuh tuh tuh tour”, and the iphone fans saying “mms (kinda) & copy+paste finally”, etc. And we’re all good to go
@ Patrick
Your mom stutters when I sit on her face.

Agreed, well said. My apologies for the flame war.

@ steven
I never ever posted the 4 letter word on this (and others) site!
Libel suit? Nah, I’l let backbeat do that. Any1 even remembers?
i usually at the many posts and constant bickering on this site but this was too extreme. Chill people. On a lighter note anyone know the real release date because it sure isn’t coming to free me from my original env anytime this week.
apologies for fueling the flame.
Not surprising. The whole U2 thing along with the device being named the Tour makes all the sense. Wouldn’t be surprised if they have anything to do with each other and the concert tour along with a close launch date.
hi, VZW will be unlocking GPS on the Saga soon enough. First unlock GPS firmware went live on the Touch Pro but all VZW WinMo 6.1 devices with MSM6800-MSM7500 can use the same new custom driver.
I’m on my 5th storm today too. Love Verizon, HATE the storm. =( This looks like a good replacement for me though.
@Swagger–VZW “flagship” phone might be a new LiMo R2 device, but VZW also has exclusivity periods on new Android, WinMo, BlackBerry and WebOS devices that can be considered “flagships” (i.e. Motorola Android, Omnia 2, Storm 2, “Cousin”)
It is true. Just went to the VZW website and saw that the Tour is on there at the same time I received an email from a friend with the same news.
RIM rolled out their TOUR product page today @ http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/blackberrytour/
Any word on the MAGNUM???
@everyone why does the storm suck?
iPhone for Verizon???? This is the first I’ve heard of that!!! Are you spreading rumors????
@Thande: Must me genetic since I stutter every time you swallow me load, bitch
@ BurstinKnightmares
Your load didn’t taste as good as your dads, but your mom would be the better judge as she says mine tastes like ricepudding! And yours taste like 1% milk.
@David Thande: You really shouldn’t be chasing 12-year old boys like that. “knightmare” sits behind me in homeroom and is my friend. No wonder he seems depressed all the time now. Is this really where all those thrown out of Craig’s List ended up trolling to get young meat? You’re sick and need help.
The Storm 2 is supposedly hitting Verizon stores around Christmas…
I can’t wait for the Tour, I became a BB addict when I got my Pearl for free through VZW and will never get another brand! I’ve had almost every “smart”phone that VZW made, Palms, UTStarcom, Motorolas, and BB is the best. And although I don’t like the policies or customer service, or tech support of VZW, it does have the best coverage. I had Sprint while living in Miami, and it was just ok down there, but horrible when I moved back to NY, AT&T was the worst in more remote areas of NJ, as was T-Mobile, and before Nextel merged with Sprint, well, I don’t even know what I was thinking signing a contract with them!
As far as wi-fi goes, I have in on my iPod touch, and it’s not that great, I know there are arguments fr it, but it’s quite unreliable and I know for VZW you have to have a BlackBerry plan anyway, so who cares about the wifi?

Verizon says the phone will be available in stores and online July 12th. Preorders are available for the introductory price of $199 with a new 2-year activation. Hopefully this applies to upgrades as well.
it comes out on july 12th, next weekend!
who’s going to be at the doors waiting at 10 a.m?
ME!!
