Opera to “reinvent the Web” on June 16th
Sorry Al Gore, your work here is done. The Internet as we know it will soon to be a thing of the past. No longer will a complex series of interconnected computers following a strict set of protocols connect us to the information we crave, the knowledge we relish and the kitty videos we yearn to “awwwwwwwwwwwwww” at. TCP/IP… Psssshhhh, peace. Copper wire, fiber optic cable… So long, suckas. Opera is about to kick it all to the curb. Or maybe, just maybe, Opera’s PR team is writing checks the company can’t cash and we’re just going to see Opera 10 come out of beta on the 16th. Yeah, that’s way more likely.

Opera is great. I just wish they’d upgrade their version for those of us still stuck with Win Mobile Standard. My Moto Q9m needs some lovin.

I’m looking forward to Opera 10, myself. Been an Opera user for… wow. Damn near 10 years.
I remember when it was ad-supported. One of the dumbest fucking ideas ever, in retrospect. Hell, at the time.
It’s the little browser that could on the desktop. For mobile phones, it’s pretty much the last word in browsing, upstarts like Skyfire/Iris/Fennec/etc. notwithstanding.

What is this Opera thingy anyway?
“what is opera” -Operas been around forever. They are the Internet on your cell phone experts. But apple doesn’t allow them on your iPhone. I guess their browser works similar to blackberries compression. They can speed up your surfing and make the pages look cleaner. Apple should quit prohibiting them from making an app for us

In 2006, I downloaded Opera Mini3 on my Sprint Java enabled Samsung m610, sadly it is no longer available,
it brought color web experience with images, to my 2.2 inch screen, hence after nine years,killing WAP,WAP2 and OBIGO for good!
Opera Mini4 was first, before the Apple iPhone, in giving you the option of zooming into articles and images, it was too data intensive and crashed my 2006 phone,
still, lucky for me I had a second copy of Opera Mini3, which I am still using today!!
I currently use Opera 9.6, as my main browser on my Asus 900 Netbook,it is not perfect, but efficent and superior to other browsers in my experience,I am looking forward to the next step.
