Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 specifications leaked?
A regular poster over at Mobile-review forums has leaked what he/she claims are the specifications for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2. The black and silver slider is rumored to have:
- 8.1mpx auto focus, VGA @ 30fps (MP4 HQ)
- 3.5 inch WVGA OLED (increased from 3.0 from X1)
- GPS, aGPS
- 3.5 mm headphone jack
- Accelerometer
- Faster processor
- 512 RAM
- Custom Windows Mobile 6.5 (SE engineers customized Win6.5 which runs very. very speedy. in par with iPhone and better in some cases)
- XPERIA Panels are modified with plenty of innovative features (PS3 remote play being one of them)
- Upgrading to Windows Mobile 7 is supported by Xperia panels
If these specs pan out, then the X2 may be a nice jump up from the X1.You may have to wait a while to get your mitts on this handset, however. With the mention of Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Mobile 7 and Sony Ericsson’s track record with the first Xperia handset, any potential release date is most likely way off in the distance.

The only thing that may help this phone sell is that of the windows mobile 6.5 and 7 upgrades in the future.
Other than that, the phone looks like a downgrade from the first X1. The first xperia sucked pretty bad with the buggy software but was sexy as hell. Hopefully they fixed that with the X2 but it looks like the trade off was the sexyness that the first X1 had.
Other than that, I am not holding my breath for this one. During the X1 released I ran out of breath. Who knows when this will be released.
SE still needs to remodel the phone, its still ugly!!

sony ericcson phones look really cheap both online and in person, yet they cost a ridiculous amount of money
It looks like the phone is a cross between the Motorola android device and the HTC Touch Pro 2, only not as good.
Loki, how is this not an improvement? It says it has a better processor and 512 MB of RAM. That’s DOUBLE the RAM of the X1. Plus, 8.1 MP camera is much more than the current 3.2 MP camera.
If only this phone came out this month; then I may have considered getting it over the Touch Pro2.
yea, I would tentatively take this Xperia X2 over the HTC Touch Pro 2, but I would first have to make a complete specs comparison. I do like that white and gold printing on the black keys contrast arrangement..it is visually instantaneous.
oh, and, uh, comapared to women, no cellphones, smartphones, PDAs, etc look sexy – they are ALL ugly chunks of plastic, metal, etc which we must endure putting up with in order to remote communicate with those whom are truely sexy….women
From what I can tell, that phone’s specs lay waste to the Touch Pro2.
I’m sad that it’ll never come to VZW. The camera is too powerful and Sony Ericsson just doesn’t seem to believe in CDMA.
I’d pick up that phone in a heartbeat, even if I couldn’t get a carrier subsidy for it. I have a fetish for convergence devices, and I have a sneaking suspicion that this phone might be able to release a digital camera for basic spur-of-the-moment, out-with-friends pictures.
That “flash” looks a little suspect, though…
What’s an OLED screen again please? Wiki was a little light on the subject.

This looks like a made in china third world phone…. can bet its not the X2!
