Telus’ BlackBerry Tour 9630 gets pictured fresh from a grease bath
So sorry, Bell, it looks like Telus is already preparing to rain on your parade. Just as the BlackBerry Tour 9630 will launch on multiple carriers here in the US, so too will it see several homes up north in Canada. Sure it’s a little blurry and it’s greased up like a young Arnold Schwarzenegger, but there’s no mistaking that branding — this little guy is Telus-bound. A 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, HVGA display and a knockout cocktail of CDMA/EV-DO/GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA make for quite the stunner. Excited, Telus crowd? Hit the jump for two more shots of greasy goodness.
Thanks, Ricky Ricardo Mentelban!

where is the megapixel labeling on the back? BG’s TOUR has it.
that battery cover has gotta go. why couldn’t rim give it a matte cover.
so doesnt this thing like like the last Curve? and the one before that? or do they change the overall weight of the phone each time?? Whats new?
WHEN IS VERIZON LETTING THIS OUT!? I have been going crazy — teased with a May release months ago, and now Canadian providers are putting it out first? seriously – this sucks.
The question is… will t-mobile be 3g in Jacksonville, FL before this get’s released.
give me my TOUR verizon, give me my damn TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ richie
Better watch out for Zach’s typo there, “multiple US carrier’s”. Maybe he meant over the long run, not at one time.
@ dave thande
Your description of the rouge 9900 had to be copy paste d from somewhere, its that good. Give us the source. Or is it nothing but your wish list?
^^heck, I’d put in a 12 MP front facing camera in there. Why just 5. ??
Actually Zach has mentioned the 9900 back in Feb. And suddenly its not longer mentioned?
To be honest. In really starting to look at the iphone. Or the Pre. Its a dying technology BlackBerry OS.
Rim your losing folks to Apple. I’ve been pretty faithful through the years. When at meeting I’d ridicule the i phone for its 8-12 year old demographics but this new one might be running at a pace you can’t keep up at.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I Hate the damn touch screen. If I wouldn’t, I’d been by now on the I-boat. I have to confess.
^Well, not exectly. The BLACKBERRY is great and has many goodies over the iphone, but still, dave’s point is true. The OS is soooo stone age.
Wonder why this didn’t make it to a thread here @ BGR, this would ignite discussion.
http://crackberry.com/blackberry-storm-vs-palm-pre-according-verizon
@joeTOUR because storm is not worth taking about anymore
Well, there is so many people with different prefferences, so it IS worthy to have a disscussion on the pro’s and con’s of each device. And if my memory serves me well, there was a thread here not long ago about both VZ And sprints internal memo’s comparing the Pre/storm vs. Others.
smart phones go in this order iphone> blackberry> palm. i personally hate the iphone, but respect its power. its only great because it was 1st and the app store boosted it.
What exactly is dead about the blackberry os? Seems to me it is still more sophisticated than the Iphone which can’t run more than one thing at a time.
On top of that I can blackberry IM my friends all over the world at no charge. With the iPhone I have to pay to text outside of the US and it is expensive!
I really like the iphone, but I would be giving up a lot of what I use my berry for because the iphone just can’t do it.
This post is dedicated to @grrr
You sir are awesome
TUH TUH TUH TOUR!?
Hate to Rain on your Parade, Bell as well is launching this product. Love the ignorance with some people.
No streaming, no streaming, no streaming.
Telus + RIM is dull, dull, dull…
the guy that posted those pictures got fired.
lolol
No streaming? what are you talking about my Pearl with Telus has streaming.
Why has Verizon not learned their lesson about cell phones yet. If you do a google search you will see this phone has already been featured on bgr over a year ago as the blackberry niagara. Is verizon really that slow at changing a name.
Anybody know when this will be released through Telus?
