The cost of service at T-Mobile is by far a better deal than you will get anywhere else. If AT&T, Verizon or Sprint GAVE you a data phone for free with no mail in rebate required, paid you an extra 100.00 dollars AND waived the act fees … it would still be cheaper to go to T-Mobile … even if T-Mobile charges 200.00 for the data phone upgrade. All providers require data service when you buy a data phone and have for years. T-Mobile is finally getting on the wagon and requiring data service like everyone else and even so they are still a better deal. T-Mobile plans for minutes, messages and data are a WAY BETTER DEAL. Verizon, AT&T and Sprint gain most of their customers because of impulse buying (Oh look Ma, a FREE PHONE) Do the math people. A free phone DOES NOT equal a better deal.

t-mobile started doing that data plans like that because lets face it, it’s time to get down to business. business that verizon has beeen doing. its simple you buy what’s considered an “all-in-one” device you indeed MUST choose a matching data plan. i mean why do you want a car without a motor anyway? the “company” way of looking at is of course just that. granted you can switch them around as often as you switch phones, just not to go below unlimited text messaging. i mean honestly, makes sense to me. of course as a consumer things usually don’t come without some kind of little peck in the eye from that point of view. I jus kind of realized i totally started off with this after reading the last post that was on the page at the time, and of course all the ones before. To the ones that are all like well tmobile doesnt have modern phones or their coverage is not to youre standards, one thing you have to remember is shop wisely for wireless service. get what you need. if you need coverage in an area where you can honestly say is not heavily populated or people are far and few between, then opt for cdma. its a given thats what wins there. if its innovation and new technology well opt for gsm. hell even att covers cows, in alot of places, not all. i say this because when you give an opinion of a company you cant go in blind and expect to get exactly what you need if you dont know what they provide. because we all know that leads to a poor experience for the consumer, and there goes our mouths. im sure you see my point. the company gets a bad rap about your coverage issue. which i cant say the company has made haste in making huge dramatic expansions thru what we’d call rural areas with signal strength. but they are innovative and we know the equipment arsenal is getting good quick. they’re getting ready to get some revenue coming in with their new 3g network. we all know newer than what was made before in the technology world has improvements to that same technology made 3-4 or so years earlier. ie, att’s 3g systems compared to brand new t-mobile 3g systems. im convinced there’s a difference. she’s still being built though. i will quote cnet from their review of the new 3g network “lighting fast”. and to all of you, my last we all know statement is the carriers’ 33-34 million customers we do have are very satisfied with their customer service. if something is does go wrong they’ve got someone to talk to, not instructions from someone who’s in India reading a script. because its after 6 pm here? come on now, kinda like a big game of give me all you’re money and i’m not even going to be here when you call. wooow.

this shit’s whack. They try to make it seem like they’re doin somethin good but they’re not. Before, you had to sign up for the data to get the rebate. Now you cant get the phones without the data so it only makes sense they you don’t need the rebate. Total bs. Disclaimer: i work for t-mobile

oops i meant data plans not rebates. the data plans are what would be needed to be kept on for the length of the contract.

the rebates are needed to be kept on that plan for the length of the contract… the only way you can get out of this is if you buy the handset at full retail or through a friend…

The G1 is still 179.99 not 149.99…it never had a mail in rebate so i dont see how this effects it.

Ummm… The list includes the curve 8900, the new sidekick lx(2009), and the g1. What’s not new about those handsets exactly?? The mytouch, touch pro 2, and dash 3g are not released yet so wit exactly are u talkin bout??
