Heck, the way this rollout is going, it’s anything but a sprint, pun intended. It’s vzw that was racing to have LTE out and have revised thier plan because if you remember they originally planned to be done in two years. I want to see who will legitimately refute christexasport’s capacity claim regarding LTE, me not knowing much of anything on the technical part, because it makes since but you gotta believe they have made provisions.

Sprint/Wimax vs. VZ/LTE,
reminds me of the “Hare & Turtle race”, scary outcome for Sprint,…
the 4G race is a “marathon”, which requires proper pacing and planning, not just a short “sprint”, oo getting there first, but also remaining in the lead in the long run, btw, no pun intentend!

rrac, you act as if there is another 4G alternative that’s saturating the market now or will before WiMax. The latest vzw press release says there will be one east coast market and one west coast market by the end of the year with an expected completion by ‘14.

“Rubberized” is just a finish on the product,check out the Samsung m610, LG Lotus,…it is a none slip, smudge free, scratch resistant finish, hence your phone will look kept and clean, years later!

Sprint did an internal survey with Palm, and matt was prefered over the glossy, shiny finish,which is also slippery!

The clear majority spoke, yet still,
Sprint opted against their own research, some logic!

For the record, I personally do not care for the Pre or S60, but the m800 was the upgrade to my m610, I was going to buy it, they changed it into “the Instinct”, and said sorry,”no can do!”

I am talking about the principle.
Freedom of choice & customer service, versus greedy policies, of alienating their “bread & butter” client base.
It is not about me, it is about 48 million customers and their right to choose, of course if you are out of contract like myself, you can always move on, like millions of other customers lost!

Sadly, I don’t even see anything exciting in the pipes, I hope TP2 is rubberized, I am sick and tired of “the shiny smudge magnet finish”, otherwise i might get a black Lotus or even move on and get the iphone 3GS VZ, in 2010!

One less Account, right…?

That pretty much confirms it, you are the same guy frm phonenews. I don’t see it that way because there are other choices without those restrictions and WiMax has no such plan limitation and only one device as of yet. I know you have a sweet F&F plan but times and phones changed, move on either carriers or plans. The Touch Pro 2 won’t be restricted nor will WiMax

“EP”,started with only one device, “the Instinct”,now there are three devices, two them are “the top of the line devices”,…does that not show a trend?!

The Sprint “EP” purpose is to increase revenue, however at what cost?
By alienating existing base customers, i.e.Fair & Flexible,Free & Clear and Sero?

Preventing current customers of buying the device of their choice, on the plan of their choice, would understandably kill their further interest to vest themselves into any new Sprint product, like “WIMAX”!

1.Not every account wants/needs “WIMAX”!
2.Everyone wants to have the freedom of choice of plan & device!
3.Sprint can not sustain itself,by further loss of the base accounts!

You are assuming the nunber of “new accounts & converts”, is going to equal or even exceed the number of “bleeding accounts” ,which it clearly will not!

Sprint needs every penny,
first to recover the funds it already has spent on building the “WIMAX” network and Nextell…etc,
second to continue competing, and guess what, VZ & AT&T will not stand still and they will use LTE,an universal system with more choices in devices and plans, hence less costly to them and better choices for the consumer, due to competition.

Unless, Sprint drops the “EP” requirement for the “current base accounts”,time will demonstrate and confirm my aforementioned prediction,
just wait and see!

That’s a lame assessment, you only have to get the plan if upgrading to 3 devices, and if paying more elsewhere is what they want then so be it. The WiMax plans are better than everything else out too so that is even weaker, let it go and move on to the TP2 because the Everything plans have little to do with WiMax

Mark my words, at almost half of each VZ & AT&T customer base, if Sprint continues to expand and enforce its “Everything Plan”, on existing base customers (i.e.Fair & Flexible,Free & Clear and Sero…), Sprint will not be able to sustain operation for long, say three to five years (implementation of universal 4G period), max.

Isn’t this whole mess about Sprint boiling down to simple math? If it has such a supreme network, and it saves customers hundreds or even upwards of a thousand over the course of a contract, why aren’t people switching? ETFs cant be the excuse since the savings more than makes up for it. Is this just a matter of a company that couldn’t sell the cure for cancer? I dont think that’s the reality, otherwise customers wouldve already turned the corner on what was supposed to been the ‘bad’ past.

people can bash sprint all they want. i have never had a problem with them. i have had them for 8 years with no complaints. i get great service and have never had a problem with customer service. sprint lost customers because their options for new hot phones has been weak. all the iphone fan boys can suck it. you are actually getting cut and paste after 2 years! congrats. how’s that real internet (no flash?) and tethering your phone to your laptop? i can do all that on my blackberry with no extra cost from sprint. been able to do it for years. i have yet to meet anyone with an iphone that says they love it and would not switch. if you are that person then maybe you might want to rethink everything. sprint will put out 4g networks and it will work. unlike that 3g of at&t. if you drop the fanboy crap and compare everything, sprint’s network is a lot cheaper and more reliable than at&t. at least here in NYC. i’m not paying for unlimited service on other networks because every other network restricts something or hits you with other charges. i can do what ever i want on sprint and my bill is always the same. for unlimited everything on sprint is a huge savings over other networks. so finger gesture away to bigger bills.verizon offers the same deal as sprint, but only if you ask. it’s not advertised. slimy verizon.

Why is it they lost 13 million customers in the past year or 2? Wouldn’t they have more if they are so great? Verizon and ATT both have 80 million customers a piece. Is there a reason for that? Answer is yes. Wimax is great, but when LTE comes out Wimax will be nothing as it will not be globally supported. Good luck with that one sprint and sprint customers! Have fun paying your $200 ETF when all other companies charge less! I love how sprint customers think sprint is god’s gift to cell phones when they get nickel and dimed to death. You can’t even call sprint customer service to get your account number. Because they know you are switching providers and don’t want you to!

I think the $14 Billion that Sprint has invested in Clearwire for the 4G expansion says enough about their commitment. With as many as 120 million possible 4G subscirbers available in 80 markets within the next 18 months, I think we all will see a HUGE change in Sprint’s respect in the technology world.

LTE is a proof of concept at this point it has yet to be rolled out on large scale around the world. Where as wimax networks already exist on a large scale roll out. Not to say LTE is not going to work. My hope is that one of the carriers wimax or other wise will do the right thing roll these networks out to rural areas as well.

Personally, I don’t have much of an issue with the current 3G tech, and I don’t have a problem just waiting to see how 4G shakes out. I will say, considering how much of the spectrum Verizon owns, I’d have a tough time betting against them.

I live in L.A., obviously there is no mention of it,no where in sight!

Due to “Tier 2″ tease,I have been waiting for several years, for this service, so I can give up my “Fair& Flexible 700″, and after 3 years upgrade my phone with something more exciting.

Maybe it is time to even consider the Apple iPhoneV3, in black and rubberized!

After over eleven years, and the “Everything Plan” enforcement pattern,I am tired of the “waiting game” of the so called “NOW Network”!
