Rumor: HTC Hero and Lancaster to be announced on June 24th

Steadfast HTC fans brace yourselves as The Economic Daily News is reporting that HTC will launch the Hero and Memphis aka the AT&T-bound Lancaster at a press event in London on June 24th. Obviously this is nothing more than a rumor at this point, but we know HTC will be holding events in London and New York City on that date so something is definitely cooking. Mmmmmmmm, Android.

    @5th: What would they cripple? Is that just the generic answer that you got off the internet to give whenever some one brings up Verizon? Its open source software. They could do whatever the hell they wanted with it. In fact, the Lancaster/Memphis may be released with a AT&T specific UI that falls in line with their other phones.

    After this massive wait for an android device with AT&T 3G, the Lancaster is a huge disappointment due to its horrible QVGA screen.

    The Hero is more interesting, but I haven’t seen any confirmation on what bands it will support yet. Guess we’ll know soon enough…
