HTC Ozone gets spied on its way to Verizon
There’s no question — the HTC Snap was in dire need of yet another moniker. Snap, Cedar and Willow were hardly enough so our pals at Verizon have gone and added another name to the pile… Say hello to the HTC Ozone. With Sprint’s version of the Snap jumping off this Sunday, we had a sneaking suspicion that Verizon’s Snap wouldn’t be far behind. Lo and behold, one of our Verizon ninjas just swooped down and dropped this screenshot on us. So far no pricing or release timing are available but training is set to kick off next week so the release shouldn’t be too far off. Notables from the provided info are Wi-Fi, Microsoft My Phone compatibility, Visual Voicemail, VZ Nav, Internet Explorer 6 mobile and of course the fact that it’s a world phone. Hit the jump for a bigger shot.
Thanks, KrazyVZW!

This looks like a much different phone than the Snap. Keyboard is not curved, and then there’s that weird bar across the middle that almost makes this thing look like an HTC Centro…. The unbranded Snap is soooooo much sexier. Why no trackball?
it looks nicer than sprint’s snap. u must not of heard me verizon, i said TOUR
i have a question. when do you plan on releasing T-O-U-R.
OMG a Verizon phone with WIFI? But…but…that’s unpossible!
Rumor has it this one has unlocked GPS too, so…
- world phone? check
- Usable GPS? check
- Wifi? check
I wonder if this will sway anyone waiting on a CDMA BlackBerry with wifi?
HTC Centro it is. This phone is ugly as all hell.
This design looks almost identical to the Palm Centro.
Anyone else agree?
Finnaly the “lack of wifi” argument is being laid to rest.
Fail! because if the tour isn’t going to have wifi, that means Ozone won’t. no wifi=big fail
btw any news about storm 2?
@verizonguy hell naw. tuh tuh tuh tuh TOUR. TOUR is way bettter than this crap.
@ grr
A g r e e !!!!!!
people are stupid most window base phone has wifi from verizon like the saga.
I would like to point out that no one, including myself, has ever said Verizon doesn’t allow wifi. It’s just that they don’t allow it on the phones that people actually buy… like Blackberries or the myriad of cheap LG phones Verizon releases every two weeks.
also, in the article posted here, it says it will have VZnavigator, so that definitely is not unlocked GPS since you have to pay some ridiculous monthly charge on top of the already ridiculous monthly data charge.
@ steven,
buddy, why does “cheap LG phones” NEED wifi? would wifi add something to none-HTYML browser’s????
@joetour it’s grrr with 3G’s. funny. but seriously, winmo standard. QVGA screen. yep, TOUR’s gonna blow this thing out the water.
^^ so only BB’s is the problem, and that has been taken care of too. after the Tour there shall be no “crippling” comments associated with words like “verizon”!!
@ grr
yep.i wonder what’s the “phenomenon” with HTC devices are, reg WinMo, coated with a sexy cover. thats it! (except the android 1’s).
So should I really look at the Storm2 instead of a VZW iPhone?
come on KrazyVZW we need the T-O-U-R!!!!!!
look what i’ve started ^ , copycats. i’m with ya other TOUR trolls.
HTC original design owns this and Sprints with its curve and off-set keyboard, and just sleek design: http://www.devicewire.co.uk/htc-snap
This rendition looks bulky and unfinished.
Just because it will have vz navigator does not mean the gps will be locked. The storm has it and its god is not locked.
Gps. Not god.
I agree, it looks like a Centro.
The HTC Snap/Ozone? Hero? T-Mobile G1? minor improvements to Touch Pro/Diamond?
Anyone else thinking HTC best design days are behind them? This thing is hideous, twenty steps back from where they were with the original Touch Diamond/Pro
