AT&T chops prices of BlackBerry Bold and Curve 8900 to $199.99 and $149.99
Good news for those of you who are in dire need of a new smartphone but would prefer to stick to models that have been given the “all clear” in consumer reviews instead of grabbing the hottest new toys. Just like we told you in our scoop back in early May, AT&T has just slashed the 2-year contract price of the BlackBerry Bold to $199.99. What’s more, the Curve 8900 has been cut to $149.99 — the price it was originally going to launch at according to our sources. Previously $299.99 and $199.99 respectively, the Bold shed off a third of its price tag while the newest-kid-on-the-block (to AT&T, anyway) is now ripe for the picking. So what’s it gonna be, people? The brawny Bold or the svelte Curve 8900?

are those real size pics ?? if so damm the bold is way bigger
Is Rogers going to follow?
Yawn. That is the 2 yr. contract price. A lot of f’ing good it does anyone who is already an AT&T customer.
I wonder are they trying to clear stock for something new! I’m ready to upgrade my Bold.
is that after rebate? because attwireless.com is still showing 299-100 mail in rebate? still sucks to lay out 299
the bold has been 199.99 at RadioShack for awhile….yet one more reason why you should never buy a phone from att retail.
Tour please, tour. Hello VZW?
Wow ATT what a deal! Too bad I got my Bold new on Amazon months ago. Why are people stupid enough to buy anything from ATT?
Yep that’s after MIR. Thats the price point they should have originally released both phones at. It’s tough enough as it is offering the phone to customers for $399 at point of sale. This makes it a little more reasonable.
The 8900 is really small imo. I love my Bold and would recommend it to anyone seeking a new smartphone.
^ Oh and btw, I only paid $150.
When is the Bold coming to VERIZON! My old phone is running on vapors and I am up for my new every two!
@ damiaking – r u kidding? how uninformed would one have to be to think that the pics are 1:1? Seriously?
Facts = 4.49″ x 2.6″ x 0.59″ (BOLD) vs 4.29″ x 2.36″ x 0.53″ (8900)….
4% shorter, 9% less wide, and 10% less deep.
Radioshack! $79.99!
tuh tuh tuh tuh TOUR!!! didn’t tmo chop the price of the 8900 after a week? lame. MORE INFO ON THE T-O-U-R bgr.
Next up: Pearl Flip, Onyx and Stratus.
@kyle
That’s surpising. I fiddles with an 8900 last week it felt a lot smaller the the bold I had in my pocket. Maybe I’m just used to it. Thanks for posting specs.
I agree with the above, I qwould never buy anything from a retail store! Amazon, wirefly whtevr but why pay for devices when they are out there for next to nothing? Btw, to hell with att, bigger plan wit sprint $40/monthe cheaper! Great service in my area!
YESSSSSS – to the Bold price drop.
I’ve been waiting on this for ever!
Now I just have to become a free agent and it’s all clear for me
$49 on Amazon!
I am too lazy to visit Best Buy. Did Best Buy cut the prices already?
8900 for the win!
will amazon or wirefly allow me to get the bold as upgrade? not a new plan or add a line?
I went to my local Att store recently and they didnt even have the 8900 yet. Not that I wanted an Edge device anyway.
I got it for free after MIR from letstalk.
they drop the price because the CDMA bold comes out with verizon for -you guessed it- $199.00 . they could afford a higher price only if they are the only one carrying the bold.
