LG Tritan gets pictured on its way to U.S. Cellular

Earlier today we firmed up a whole mess of U.S. Cellular release dates through the end of June. Of course, some of the handsets were more exciting than others and it just so happens that one of our ninjas snapped a live shot of the LG Tritan, due out on June 8th — definitely one of the more exciting phones due out for the small carrier this month. To recap what we know so far about this side-sliding beauty, it sports a 3-inch QVGA touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard, full HTML browser, music player, G sensor, Bluetooth and a 3 megapixel camera. As far as pricing goes, nothing is confirmed yet but we’re hearing it could be $100 or less after rebate — and don’t forget, a $20 per month data package will be required. Excited, U.S. Cellular customers? Hit the jump for a larger image.

ok, zach. what is the difference from this phone to the LG EnvTouch ? looks like the same specs to me. the reason i ask this is to clarify a long runing myth here in these coveted pages that VZ has **** phones but others is anything but. so will you clarify for us the difference?
since the envtouch ‘hands-on’ is already out there.
    thanks in advance.

@joetour the screen res is very different. QVGA vs. WVGA. that’s big. this phone does look nice though. TOUR DAMNIT.

@JoeTour: Well the Env Touch isn’t a slider, which was always one of my personal gripes.

Another difference is a different UI. Which really probably doesn’t matter much.

And really doesn’t your argument work against its self? If as you put it “looks like the same specs”, shouldn’t I be getting the env touch for $100 or less after mail in rebate?

There is a huge difference like the form factor. This has a side sliding keyboard jsut like the Xenon and the env touch has a clam style keyboard. So yes verizon phones still do suck. Why can’t they get a fucking side sliding qwerty phone besides the damn Glyde or that new moto coming out?

Yeah they seemed to be pretty big in Minneapolis when I was there too. They’re basically just a regional carrier that has some major cities in their “region”.

If you have to have a $20 data package why doesn’t this phone has windows mobile.

Us Cellular trys to focus more on rural areas. Although their main offices are in chicago. Most of the places where Us Cellular does have service they get better service than all the other bigger carriers. Someone has to think about the little guys right?

ROZ, it has a full web browser and unlimited easyedge included in the 20$ package. Which is a much better deal then the 24$ you pay for the windows mobile package. The tritan isn’t a smart phone, just a normal phone with a full web browser. Its the same package we offer for the samsung delve.

Is it going to be out June 8th? Because a lot of people are saying it’s pushed back, and I’ve been waiting so long for this phone and was just wondering if its going to be out a lot later.

Hi all, I got a chance to see a demo LG Tritan and it’s a really cool phone. I heard from a U.S. Cellular rep. that it should be in the store sometime this week. I have the Samsung Delve and I can’t wait to return it so I can get the LG Tritan. I was told it has Yahoo Messaging and IM Messaging. I hope that’s true.
