BlackBerry Tour hits Bell, kind of

We just got these lovely photo snaps from one of our Bell ninjas. It’s official promo material from Bell, and big surprise, no release date listed. However, these do list the specs (which we’re all very, very aware of), but we’ll post them up for those of you wishing June 6th never comes:
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS/HSDPA 2100MHz band only
- GPS
- 480×360 display
- 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, image stabilization
- Video recording
- QWERTY keyboard
- OS 4.7.1 but possibly OS 5.0 at launch
Couple more shots after the jump!

whats the dam difference between the tour, bold, the new curve, the javelin, someone mentioned an atlas, and which bb has a hard qwerty and touch.. id never buy a bb.. im all about wm 6.5 on my touch pro.. but i reccomend bb more than anything.. they have the best mix of business, consumer, stability, and apps..
I’m looking for the “likely culprit” for dropped calls on a network I don’t have to mention. ……lol
@JoeTour
Heres our Phone bro, lol…when will this hit Verizon Wireless? i can not wait any longer
june 22nd is correct for telus
I need a New BB verizon needs to get this soon would rather hav one with wi-fi though
Is this going to work on the current telus network and then be faster when they start the new network in October?
Waiting for one new phone that won’t be outdated in 4 months.
I’m still debating whether to get this or wait until the Driftwood comes on T-Mobile so I can join my wife on a family plan. They are alot cheaper than Verizon’s family plan, sigh………..but I wish we’d hear alittle more about the Driftwood too.
does anyone know the thickness of it?
@ richie
Feel your pain. Lol. I cannot imagine verizon getting it very far from bell/telus. So I think BGR is dead on with the july 13-17 date. The difference obviously is tht big red is having a tight grip on leaks, it seems. Don’t be suprised waking up one morning in the coming days “bingo” the baby is right here. We’ll mark that day in our calenders. (At least untill the next device comes around. )
Its coming. Ohh yeah.
Love bb making new devices. Great for the ecosystem.
Same ol’ same old.
@ JoeTour
jea im afraid your right. I hope it comes out soon enough. Now that the storm 2(remember my phone lol) doesnt come out till november bummer =(… i wont get the Tour until someone or something tells me what the hell is an Atlas lol…
So tour is like a bold for vzw I see, I feel your pain joetour and richie, its an amazing phone, I switched from tmo to att just to get it and its the best BB by far. Now my question is what is the follow up to bold?
Anybody know if the tour is the 3G blackberry that T-Mobile is supposed to get this fall?
What’s the latest intel on the Atlas with Wi-Fi? When will it drop, if at all?
The Tour is the Verizon wireless (possibly sprint too) blackberry. The device you are reffering to is the “driftwood” that is coming to Tmobile, at this stage its a rumor only. The Tour however is produced already, waiting to be picked up by one of the ninjas to show it off. Ohh, wait. BGR has it already. We need the review part 2!!
Is it just me or does it look exactly like the 8900?
@ gokmengs
Well its the CDMA veriant of the bold. But, it has many features of the Storm too so in essence its a mix of all, thus giving us in the end a much improved BLACKBERRY over the bold. (Except WIFI) don’t take my word for it. Take the rock himself. BG, in his review thinks its (quote-) “the best” Blackberry experience EVER!!!!
@ richie.
I hope we are indeed proven wrong, and in the end we are getting the storm 2 with a slider keyboard. Then we all hopp on that bandwagon. And leaving the Tour!
Wassup with sprint i need the tour…well i want the tour bad…ima stick out with the underdogs but i need that new bb asap someone help me!!! lol
Know how you all LOVE the reps and salesfolks, but please don’t flame – the rep I talked to today and the one at BB have a difference of opinion or information as to the 9630 intro – VZ is hoping for a present next Thursday night but really doesn’t know and they are intentionally being kept in dark – would not take a reservation. BB says next week they get about all their new phones from everyone, just be patient for another week. Now the dates appear to overlap, & how much is hope is unknown. I’ve been waiting since Nov, and if I can get a handle on what the real date is when I walk into both places this weekend – I will let you know. Meanwhile, if it is delayed until July, any rec.’s for a VZ phone that I can play with for my 30 day window before I turn the phone in for the Tour? Maybe a 8330? I need the whole shebang – email, txt, web, TV, nav, & if the stars align wi-fi. So far it seems that there is no wi-fi VZ out of the box. Please correct me if there is, I’d rather not pay extra fees, buy unlocked, etc. BG, thanks for keeping the cheer & info coming- some days you must feel stomped on. I appreciate your dedication.
It has the same specs as the storm. The storm has quad band gsm as well as the European 3G band. Makes total sense. Oh btw the current chips that BlackBerry uses for cdma phones are from qualcom and they cannot currently support wifi on cdma devices.
Am up for a VZW upgrade this month.A lot of nice stuff coming out this month. What to do? Tour sounds nice. I might like the new Storm too, but a bit os a wait. I have been limping my 8830 along long enough. I’m “technically” not supposed to have a camera phone at work, but that handcuff may have to be left behind. Good lck finding anything without a camera anymore. What else is coming out on Big Red this month in the smartphone category?
BG,
How reliable are your “Bell ninjas”? WHEN will you know the release date for the BlackBerry Tour 9630? Are you inplying that it will be in June and NOT in JULY?
Please clarify. Thanks.

Lame…Looks just like Everyother BB. Can’t Wait For Pre or TP2.
