Verizon announces the LG enV 3, enV TOUCH and Glance

Today Verizon took the wraps off of three devices we feel like we already know all too well. Starting off with the successor to the Voyager, the evV TOUCH features a 3-inch touchscreen display on the exterior, a non-touch 3-inch display on the interior, full-QWERTY keypad, 3.2 megapixel camera with a Schneider Kreuznach lens and auto-focus, 3.5mm headphone jack and the ability to view Microsoft Office documents from a microSD card. The enV 3 features a full-QWERTY keypad as well, but it has a 2.6-inch external display coupled with a 1.56-incher on the inside and support for microSD cards up to 16GB. Moving on to the Glance, not much to see here other than the 1.3 megapixel camera, 2.5mm headphone jack and slim silhouette. All three devices feature GPS by way of VZ Navigator, mobile email, web and IM in addition to threaded SMS and MMS. The enV TOUCH will be available on June 5th for $149.99 after a $70 MIR with the Glance coming out the same day for $49.99 after a $50 MIR. The enV 3 will be available tomorrow for $129.99 after a $50 MIR.

Its very odd that there is no mention of the “tour” at all. Since the last time it was leaked all leaks afterwards ommited the “tour”. Is it because they hold it tight under wraps? Don’t get it.
Anybody? Bring on the theory’s ,,,,,

Has anyone heard whether VZW is going to release OS 7.x
For the LG Dare or perhaps a new version of the Dare?

I know, it’s not about the “Tour”!

Does the enV TOUCH require a data plan in addition to the regular monthly charge, like Verizon’s Blackberries?

Why do they call it the env TOUCH? I think that Voyager 2 would be a much more fitting name since it’s the successor to the Voyager.

    Alex says:

The env touch will not require the data plan. That is what makes this phone so great for verizon customers because we can now get a really awsome phone without having to pay $30 extra a month for the data plan like verizon requires you to do for all smartphones. I cannot wait for this phone to come out because I am stuck with a 2 1/2 year old first generation enV that is really starting to get worn out. I will certainly get this phone as spoon as I get the chance to after it comes out.

CV – no, if your plan supported the voyager, dare, or versa then you can get the env touch without changing your plan I believe.

Thanks for the info. I currently have a prepaid Verizon phone and I want to switch over to a regular monthly plan, but didn’t want to pay for an additional data charge.

By the way, Verizon’s customer service reps have said I can use my prepaid minutes/hours balance, which is sizable, as a credit toward my first few monthly plan bills. Has anyone on BGR had an experience with that to tell me whether Verizon will honor that promise?

Who cares about this phone or any other phone for VZW! Get it together people a smartphone is the only way! Who has time to have your life all in diffrnt places! 2009 people wake up! As for the data plan, Sprint is the best way! No xtra charges for anything all included and ur phone isn’t crippled!

Something happened between Verizon and some company with the rights of the name Voyager, so verizon brought back the env, since it’s such a widely known phone.

Your such an idiot! At least the apple fanboys have something to back up their rethoric, namely the i-phone.
But sprint???? Besides running in VZ’s network, what the hell do they have better then VZ??? Ohh the “pre” well, that too is coming to verizon!

Well I was up for my new every 2 and was looking at phones. I really wanted the Samsung Omnia for its quite impressive features but needed a data plan.

So I waited a few weeks and saw the enV Touch. Always liked the first enV and was curious.

So I looked at the features and was impressed. Decided to order it since I could get it for $100 bucks. Got it and I don’t think I can ever regret my choice. it is an amazing phone.

It feels to me like LG finally got the perfect blend of phone/media player/camers. Not too much camera but not too much anything else. And I came from a Samsung SCH-A990 (before it was renamed the Flipshot) so it was quite a change.

But I love the phone. Can’t wait to get a SD card to load it with music, videos and the such. Already have about 20 songs on it to just listen to and I can’t put the damn thing down even at work where phones are a no-no. I even like it better than the Storm and iPhone (not a fan of Apple as it is).

love to see what you think, share your view at http://www.Env-Touch.com a place just for the Env-Touch owners.

    StingRay says:

At best buy the enV touch is $600 so it doesn’t make any sense that this phone is so cheap when sold some where else unless you have to buy it with a plan and contract. But it doesn’t mention anything about having to buy with a plan and or contract. If you want to buy the enV touch for the price mentioned here, does it have to be purchased with a plan and or contract??
