Boost Mobile launches Motorola Clutch i465

Ok, so it’s probably not the most exciting phone you’ll see here on BGR today but Boost Mobile users may be happy to learn they finally have a QWERTY option. The uniquely styled Motorola i465 Clutch is now available to the masses and the price point is more than fair — $129.99 out the door. As far as specs go; Push to Talk / Walkie Talkie, threaded SMS and MMS, POP3 email support, Bluetooth and a VGA camera are the highlights. Oh, and did we mention the QWERTY keypad? It’s easy to dismiss this little ugly duckling of a handset but if you’re a Boost customer who has been waiting for a real messaging option, the Clutch is going to be… Umm… Pretty clutch.

the issue isn’t the phone, but the service. there are times when i thought i sent important text messages & when i didn’t get a reply i would go to resend it only to find the phone never actually sent it. it would be sitting in the outbox. my brothers surprise birthday party didn’t go over like it should have because when we were around the corner heading to the party i texted my family & let them know we were around the corner & pulling up & to have everybody ready. when no one was ready, i was confused but i didn’t see the message in the outbox until something like an hour later. & i’m like “thats why no one knew we were pulling up”. service is too shitty. i am not sure whether or not you would have a better experience with a more expensive phone from boost. but, i would have gladly paid an extra $75 for a better phone. BEWARE!!!!!!!! i’m not even with boost mobile anymore.

How do you delete a message in the outbox that was never sent but seemingly can’t be deleted using the usual options from the menu? I thought it was locked but there are no options to unlock it when I select the message. Boost customer support has been no help – their support is terrible.

I purchased this phone used and the security code was reset from the default. I researched it online and found that I should take into a boost/sprint store. I took it in and they couldn’t reset it. I called motorola and they want me to send it in for repair?!?!?!
What should I do? I don’t have a warranty since I bought it used.

ok, so I read all of the posts and there are a few other people that have the same question as I do and IT REMAINS TO BE ANSWERED. How do you set a voice recording as a ringtone? I figured out how to set a pic I took w/ the camera as my wallpaper, but not a voice recording as a ringtone…not sure why. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Boost, sprint, nextell all want you to buy ringtones from them. they block that feature. they block the mini usb cord ports so you cant add files, they block free app and ringtone sites, all to get you to buy from them. I’m looking into sending files via bluetooth that was made with ring tone maker. when I know it works I’ll send details.

I don’t think you can use voice recordings as ring tones on this phone. If we could that would br great. But then how would the ringtone business survive.:)

i have has the clutch for a few months now. In the beginning it was great especially with the plan, but now i cant take it anymore. Even if you do the master reset, texts will still wind up being delayed in a few days. im a quick texter and the phone cant keep up.a lot of the time i will send a message and it will say its still sending, but it will only send if i turn my phone on and off again. the resolution is poor on the camera. the signal changes constantly even if you stand in one spot. I do like that the messages are in a threading system though. and also i like how loud the ringtones are. Overall i dont think i would recommend this for anyone. Im actually taking mine back tomorrow and going back to at&t in the mean time.

I hope this helps, if you are using it for calls its not a bad decision but if you are used to smartphones, stick with them
