Apple introducing six new versions of iPhone; iPod nano update imminent?
With WWDC just around the corner, iPhone rumors continue to spike as expected. This time, word is that there will be a few variants to Apple’s smartphone; six, to be exact. As speculated before, it will come in two storage capacities as it always has — presumably 16GB and 32GB this time around. The rumored matte-finished iPhones will also come in three different models according to iLounge however, each supporting different radio protocols: 3G, enhanced 3G and TD-SCDMA depending on region. iLounge also reports that a new iPod nano is in the works, featuring a wider 1.5:1 screen, integrated digital camera and a smaller click wheel. No word just yet as far as storage capacity is concerned but now that the ball is rolling, expect rumors and/or speculation to start flowing pretty freely. According to the source, the new nano will drop around the same time as the new iPod Touch — sometime this Summer.

I’m just hoping the new iPhone(s) are matte, as suspected.
Not because I will necessarily be buying one (maybe), but because the huge popularity of the phone will hopefully cause other manufacturers to STOP USING GLOSSY.
Marc this isn’t the best post you’ve had. Its too much speculation, its almost like saying, this year Apple will unveil new products. We want intel!

Apple better get its Ass in gear if it is to launch 6 different phones. With all the problems of the iPhone 3G, I can’t imagine the backlog for fixing iPhones or stock issues at stores in different countries. I can just picture it.
@Dragon, no td-scdma does not make it Verizon or Sprint compatible. HSPA has some of its architecture in WCDMA

The only product Apple could make that would interest me would be an iPod Touch with somewhere in the range of 120-160GB of storage.
Since that’ll never happen, I don’t see where I care about an Apple product until my current iPod dies.

How are they going to handle the upgrade path? people with the 3G with a whole year left have to pay full retail??? Also a ATT tech told me that they are not having any vacation freeze like they did last year? They seem to think not that big of deal????

Not necessarily too awkward of a camera placement if you think that most people will turn that screen on it’s side to take a pic….
I wish they would stop outing out all these phone charging all this money for products that don’t work right.
Take your time a make something that works and build off of that.

That’s highly unlikely, Apple now has a proven formula, leak out bits of tech every year. Keep em’ coming back for a minor upgrade. Macbook Air is a huge example!
