New 32GB iPhone makes brief appearance at T-Mobile Austria; Old 16GB iPhone now EOL’ed?

With WWDC just around the corner, it is time for the iPhone rumors to kick into high gear and get a little international flavor. First stop is Vodafone, where an email sent to the retail staff reveals that the 16GB iPhone has been categorized as “End of Life” by well-known mobile phone supplier Brightpoint. In a different part of the world, a placeholder for an “iPhone 32 GB” has appeared and then disappeared from T-Mobile’s Austrian website, mimicking a similar brief appearance of the iPhone on T-Mobile’s German website last year. Sounds like the old is making way for the new, no?

    I sure hope they are not just doubling the memory and calling that an upgrade. Apple will likely toss in something else, silly, to sell the new iPhone. Maybe you can get it in more colors! LOL!

    Well Apple doesn’t release 20 different versions of the same phones with/without wifi like RIM does so they can get a way with keeping one device under the radar.

    waiting to see IF new hardware and features are true…if so, I’ll probably snag one. After playing with the current 3g iphone, Bold, E71x,and the new Jack….seems like the Apple product is best suited for my needs. enough “business” functions for me and by far the best browser phone. Plus, as an upgrading ATT customer…it’s cheaper than the Bold and same price as the 8900curve.

    I have a strong feeling that the new iPhone will be announced by Steve Jobs. This is how I see it happening:

    Phil Schiller will finish up his part of the keynote and end it with a simple, “Thank you”. Than everyone will hear Steve Jobs voice, “But, there is one more thing…” Apple fan boy and girls will wet their pants – it will be huge orgy…with clothes on. Steve will come out on the stage and announce that an 8GB, 32GB and 64GB phones will be released on July 17th with all the pure goodness we’ve been craving.

    Now that would be an amazing WWDC and an historic one to remember. Yes?

    Blah! I’m getting anxious for the new iphone! Joe I might leave Berry this year…. Tired of waiting for Rim to get it together. I’ll sell my 8900, Storm 1st Generation.. To get the 64GB iphone if it exists. And Download 50 useless apps with the profit.

    Hopefully the design will be revamped too.

    The old one is getting too played out like the RAZR did a couple of years ago.

    I would really like to get one for use with T-Mobile USA’s 3G network. That’s why I hate ATT’s exclusivity. Not everyone wants to be on their network. Locking down devices to one carrier sounds so CDMA and not so GSM.

    @Jeanette,

    Every carrier has their exclusive. Tmo has the G1. It’s just how they play their games. We’re all still hoping it will change when all (except sprint) will be on LTE, but I’m sure they will still have away to lock phones down or just not include the radios to work on other LTE networks.

    But if you really want an iPhone on tmo, just unlock it and use edge.

    @Tyrone D.

    That’s like a WWF storyline. Dear god King that’s STEVE’S music! He comes out on stage. Crowd craps their pants. New iPhones are introduced with the exact specs we’ve seen, people will think it’s the next coming of Jesus.

    I’m still buying a 32 GB model. iPod replacement + best browser on 3G? I’m in.
