Samsung T349 launches on T-Mobile

We scooped it like Houston’s spinach dip back in April and right on schedule, the Samsung T349 is now available from T-Mobile. No, it’s not quite as exciting as some of the other handsets due to drop over the next few weeks and months but the T349 definitely has its place in T-Mobile’s lineup as an affordable messaging phone for tweens. Key features:

  • T-Mobile myFaves® enabled
  • Messaging services
    • Text messaging (XT9 Predictive Text Technology)
    • Instant Messaging (AIM®, Windows LiveTM Messenger, Yahoo!® Messenger)
    • Picture Messaging
  • Support for web2goSM
  • 1.3-megapixel Camera
    • 1280×1024 resolution
    • 4x digital zoom
  • MP3 Player: supports MP3, AAC, AAC+
  • Stereo Bluetooth® Wireless Technology
  • MicroSD Card Slot – up to 4GB
  • Speakerphone
  • Personal organizer (alarm, calendar, calculator, notes, world time, converter, timer, stopwatch)

Try finish reading the text before writing comments. That’s the camera resolution. The display resolution is 176*220.

Yeah that threw me for a loop to, I thought the phone had a resolution of 1280 x 1024 for a second, it would have been so hard to read anything on it because it would be so small ;) .
It doesn’t seem like a very advanced phone all things considered, and for relativities sake, you can try comparing it to other keyboarded phones at:

I would never have a phone like this, but I think at $14.99 after rebate on contract they will sell a lot.

    You are a moron.

I am usually able to resist responding to the more common moronic comments–the idiots who use “then” instead of “than” or can’t get “your” and “you’re” right.

Your post demonstrates a new dimension of idiocy. Were you somehow under the impression that you were required to post? Are you old enough to be employed and, if so, how do you find your way to work?

I own a Blackberry 8220 (not my fave phone), but it works well, and gets the job done.
My daughter was playing around with it the other day and said “dad I want a phone like this”. We were due for upgrades so I picked this one out for her. She loves it, and I think it’s pretty awesome. All that it is good for is text messaging. Don’t bother trying to set up an email account, or browse the web. The keyboard might have well come off of a Blackberry because it looks exactly the same, and works just as well if not better.
I was stunned at the resolution as well, and the speaker phone is also very good. Great phone for the “tweens” but adults stay away…
