Sprint advocates receive Palm Pre units
It seems like all the Pre minutiae is hitting the Internet like a ton of bricks but here’s some more news indicating its release isn’t far off: Palm Pre handsets are making their way to Sprint stores specifically for the store advocate, or the one who will be the Pre pro. Images surfaced recently with a number of Sprint employees holding up their handsets (luckily made anonymous by bloggers) and as you might expect, people are psyched; reviews are nothing short of what is expected based on what we’ve seen so far. The device is small, the screen is responsive and the keyboard is like a mix of Centro and Treo Pro goodness (or “badness” if you hate that bubbly plastic feeling). Managers will be undergoing mandatory device training soon and we’re expecting them to give you the hands-on shortly after that in store.

Sprint announced dismal first quarter financial results today (although that $50 plan from Boost Mobile seems to be very popular), but the biggest disappointment in the press release was the lack of news about the Palm Pre:
In addition to the planned launch of the Palm Pre in the first half of 2009, Sprint in April launched the Samsung Instinct s30, the AirCard 402 by Sierra Wireless and the Sanyo SCP-2700.

@weezy – take a look at the PRE website. there is a good demo of the phone on there.
I admit, I watched the demo and was impressed. I’m on AT&T though and honestly am not pumped about leaving carriers. I’m guessing I’ll have to wait for the “normal” version to come out so I can use it on AT&T.
Im leaving att for this phone… In my area att is sooooo horrible… all my friends have sprint and they always have 3g and signal..yay!

JoeTour, you interested in getting the Pre? I’m asking because most of your post are pro-vzw while being slightly pessimistic of Sprint. I hope one of these advocates let me play with it 1st hand like the chance I had when the Pro was coming
