Sprint advocates receive Palm Pre units
It seems like all the Pre minutiae is hitting the Internet like a ton of bricks but here’s some more news indicating its release isn’t far off: Palm Pre handsets are making their way to Sprint stores specifically for the store advocate, or the one who will be the Pre pro. Images surfaced recently with a number of Sprint employees holding up their handsets (luckily made anonymous by bloggers) and as you might expect, people are psyched; reviews are nothing short of what is expected based on what we’ve seen so far. The device is small, the screen is responsive and the keyboard is like a mix of Centro and Treo Pro goodness (or “badness” if you hate that bubbly plastic feeling). Managers will be undergoing mandatory device training soon and we’re expecting them to give you the hands-on shortly after that in store.
Thanks, Chiitown!

First!!!;)

Nothing rugged know rugged phones with vga screen cdma rev a. I will post this untill i see 1
That’s a stoopid comment,
^^$10 a hour would be great right now. I lost my job over an online post about a pre-launch device.
if construction worker mike has this phone…..
#627 will perish in a inferno unseen since since god destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
@ Steven
Congrats on claiming that you are a “QDB”
plastic screen = easy to scratch = FTMFL
good one gokmengs…it was really funny.
Wow, you people REALLY need to get lives… especially Steven. I didn’t realize there were still such ridiculously stupid (that’s how it’s spelled, idiot) people out there who claim “first” in comments.
Keyboard looks like crap. I don’t understand the point of having a physical QWERTY if it’s going to be cramped and cheap.
Looking good…
Palm is still in business?

i wonder if chiitown was the rep that got canned
Yet another “iphone killer” from sprint. What this is their 6th attempt? This will not keep any of the one million customers sprint is losing per quarter. Wnat a real phone with real service? Go to AT&T or Verizon.
> Palm is still in business?
Well…no, not really. They are surviving, and have been so surviving for …like… 6 months, on other people’s money. It’s currently not at ALL clear if they will be able to survive on their own until WELL into 2010; that is, they just might need another bucket or two of other people’s money to make it that far when, in theory, the outstandingly breathtaking success of the Pre ==and== the other device(s) that has been promised begin to bring them back to profitability.
sprint is acting like people will be lined up around the block for this. i bet you if you ask 10 random people they wouldnt even know what the pre. they need better promotion or they should have selected a bigger network to launch this.
@gadgetchic,
I agree. This is a winmo slider unit. Why is this considered such a big deal?

The Pre has Windows Mobile on it? Total fail.
wow.
GJ being idiots.
Pre is launching with Palms own WEBos… Not WinMo..
@jon+StevenGlansburg
The Pre doesn’t have Windows Mobile on it. What gave you that idea? Or was that a joke that I just missed?
@steven;
Why the somber comment? I wasn’t trying to be funny. That’s what happens when you write “first”
^^^^
Certainly seems that way.
I think if they expect the Pre to be any where near the iPhone, they will need a good month of heavy advertisement before release. Remember how the first iPhone has tons of adds a good 2-3 months before release? They need to get it out into the general public, instead of just us nerdy BGR readers

since you guys are so dam smart maybe the bg commenters should start a mobile hardware and software company and a network to run it on, or you guys could at least take some of those high paying jobs im sure all your sassy remarks add up to some real world experience..
