Samsung’s Android i7500 receives FCC approval
It looks like Samsung’s Android-powered i7500 has taken one small step in its long march towards an official US launch. The i7500, known to have support for T-Mobile’s 1700MHz 3G band, has made its way though the FCC with tri-band UMTS/HSPA intact. T-Mobile customers may have a long wait for this hot new handset however, as rumors place its arrival in November — just in time for the holiday season. It may seem a bit crazy considering we’ve already eyed a few more upcoming Android handsets from Sammy but hey, T-Mobile customers, you’ve got plenty to be excited about in the coming months.

First!!!
Quit with the “First”
BGR time to ban IPs that are “FIRST”
This phone is aight, but looks like one of TMobiles many other old out dated Samsungs that slide up, just oversized.
Where is the CDMA one the Sprint will be getting too?
Dude no offense, but stop placing any hope in CDMA[2000]. It’s gonna be dead in a few years…the sooner you accept it, the sooner you’ll stop being disappointed.
It’s not like CDMA will be shut down tomorrow and Samsung said they are making CDMA variant of thier Android edition. No offense taken
man i bet this will sell faster than a fat man at an all you can eat mc donalds!
i saw this on youtube like almost everyone else and i don’t feel too happy with it. the phone didn’t look responsive and it had this annoying thing that when you flipped it to landscape mode the picture would get small and then enlarge. i hope they fix this phone up before they sell it.
Hopefully, this will light a fire under Motorola, Sony Ericsson, etc. to get their Android devices to market more quickly. Each vendor is likely to have a slightly different take on Android and it would be nice, as a consumer, to be able to compare all of the products, before making a decision.
we want CDMA cause some of us have AMAZING $30 SERO plans that whip the pants off a $80 iPhone plan
that’s why
Firm… I can’t wait to see a better form factor on the hardware for an Android device.
Are you only gonna be able to get Android phones on T-mobile here in the States? Pretty disappointed in all the carriers not picking some up or just getting us some non-Tmobile hardware.
Only 128mb of RAM will be a major limitation once this phone gets rooted.
Already the vodaphone versions of the G2/Magic have trouble running the full Sense UI, and that’s with 192mb of RAM. Mind you, further optimizations might help once Hero actually gets released.
Us lucky Rogers users get 288mb to play with (not sure about the T-mobil version). 8GB of storage is a non-factor since SD cards are so cheap.
I was initially excited about this phone, but now I’d probably stick to my magic, or get a Hero.
